I'm trying to connect to a HP LaserJet P1005 printer that is shared over our network from a Windows XP machine. I can see the printer fine when I try adding it under System Preferences\Printers but when it prompts me to select the driver I can't find it in the list. I have successfully installed the printer by connecting it to my local USB port so I would assume that the drivers are install somewhere.
Anyone have any ideas of how I can get this working?
Bought HP LaserJet P1005. Set it up. Everything confirmed OK. Printed spec page OK but noisy. Tried to print document and nothing happened - noisy rollers top rear. Checked for jams. Nada. Couldn't be anyway because only one page printed. Went to HP tech support. Error message gibberish returned...apparently they can't even fix that! Any ideas, please?
