Summary: XCOM has excellent game play, it is probably the best strategy game i have played on a console with the exception of Fire Emblem. Just be careful, losing squad members can become frustrating, especially after they've survived a large number of missions.
Summary: This is the best strategy game I have ever played. The pacing is excellent, the tense fights, and the dreaded perma-death really makes you feel like you are in that control room. The characters are really cheesy and they feel like they should belong in a clique Sci-Fi movie. Still, the aliens are fun to fight, and naming your squaddies after family and friends is hilarious, especially when they get blasted into oblivion.
Summary: To summarize my experience with Xcom enemy unknown every time I crafted something new at my base I said " boy I can't wait to try out this fancy new alien tech".and when I just got done saving a country I said "boy I can't wait to get more of this alien tech".and did that for a good long while.
A great game robbed of perfection by some obnoxious bugs. 4.5 out of 5

Summary: I really like this game. Graphics are pretty good, sounds are decent, and the combat music soundtrack is great. Gameplay-wise, the tactical combat is very thought-provoking. You really have to pay attention and make smart choices to win. In games like Starcraft or Command and Conquer, you can make all the soldiers you want - if they die, big deal.
Summary: I love this game! The single player game is a perfect recreation of the original with alot of improved graphics, better explanations and sound mechanics. Each time you win you unlock new abilities to make it the most challenging game you will ever play. It can be dangerous to play this game as it might cause you to ditch some friends or avoid work so you can keep playing. Multiplayer is mind blowing. If you love strategy this is for you.
A good game and a must-play for any strategy fans.

Summary: I bought X-COM: EU because I love strategy games and heard good things about it. It definitely delivered. In-depth RPG elements on top of human vs. alien strategy warfare was great. Haven't played a game like it and I was thrilled. Wouldn't consider it a buy-on-release game but definitely something you should pick up and play later down the road like I did.
Summary: Lets just start put by fairness right.. We should both get to move the same amount of times per turn right ? Nope. My biggest problem is while I can't see any enemy ahead so I advance slowly right ? I click the next movement an bam! Enemy's have been spirited an without my turn ending the enemy's run right up on me an now my turn is over an I have three enemy's on my face an kill me all because I moved up one step..
Summary: I never played the original xcom so I'd like to say first of I'm not a fan boy. I was however excited to check this game out when I watched the game play footage on YouTube. Its a turn based strategy rpg that takes you on a global war with aliens destroying cities on earth. You take small tactical squads into warzones or alien crash sites. Duck and cover, sniping and surpressing fire is the name of the game.
Summary: The original XCOM game (X-COM: UFO Defense) is probably my favorite PC game of all time (along with many other people). The original game was basically divided into two views - the geoscape and the battlescape. I would say that the battlescape portion (the tactical combat) has been very faifthfully updated and provides some nice improvements over the original game.
