X-Men: The Official Game

  • Conclusion: A very distinctly average and dull film tie-in of a game. So much could have been done with the license but instead it’s dull, predictable and a waste of time and money. All hail the cash cow, not! Go play Marvel Ultimate Alliance if you want a good X-Men game.

X-Men: The Official Movie Game

  • Conclusion: Unless you’re a big fan of the X-Men, I would suggest this as a rental only. If you simply must purchase it, don’t bother with the Xbox 360 version. It costs $20 more than the other versions, and aside from the improved graphics, it’s the same game. Just buy the regular Xbox version. Overall it’s not a great game, but the continuation of the X-Men storyline is an opportunity that some fans won’t want to miss out on.

X-Men: The Official Game (Xbox 360) Review

411mania.com
31 March 2007
  • Summary: is yet another case of a rushed movie tie-in that just does not stand on its own as a decent game. The limited number of characters will doubtlessly prove a disappointment to X-Men fans, the cinematics are a complete waste of disc space, and the barely-average gameplay and short levels are not going to guarantee this title much residence in your consoles.

X-Men: The Official Game

Xbox Evolved
23 December 2006
  • Summary: There’s nothing here that warrants a buy. Fans that want to know why Nightcrawler wasn’t in the movie will want to check out the game from your local video rental store. Nothing more than a weekend rental.
  • Pros: Playing as Nightcrawler is a blast.
  • Cons: Playing X-Men for more than 30 minutes isn't.

X-Men: The Official Game

  • Summary: If someone 'X-Men'tions this one, just sleep on it.
  • Pros: X-Men have cool powers, but not much else.
  • Cons: Although a minor detail, a proper manual just shows professionalism. When it looks like you typed it in word, it doesn't bode well for the quality of your product. Audio extremely dry and repetitive. Gameplay repetitive, and will end in about 10 hours max.

More crippled than Professor Xavier.

  • Conclusion: The X-men have never exactly had a perfect track record when it comes to game adaptations (the less said of Wolverine's Revenge the better for all) but with some classic arcade style hits on the Megadrive and SNES - and the above-average Legends games - the muties have had more luck in the interactive world than their fellow Stan Lee brainchildren.
