Summary: Let me preface my review by saying that I have been an X-men fan since I was four years old, watching the 90's cartoon on Saturday mornings, and I've been a gamer since I was six, playing the N64. I have read a lot of X-men comics and played a lot of video games. System:Xbox 360 Story: In the months leading up to the release of this game the developers were promoting the game as "in continuity".
Summary: I love the X-Men, and I love comics-based video games. This game seems really cool to start with; The character generation and initial gameplay are fun and easy to learn. However, it soon gets boring as the fighting moves you use are all learned in the first stage, and are all the same no matter which powerset you chose. So it seems as though you will have lots of choices and character development, but you don't. This game was fun for about 30 minutes, and that was it.
Summary: Rented this out because I am an X-Men Fan. Thank God I rented. The cut scenes are not really good but just for that they make them extra long. The models are very very last gen. The decisions you make have less meaning because both sides still talk to you and move you forward. Very straight path that you must travel. Unoriginal level design. And the worst insult I can give a game: It's really boring.
Summary: I'm not a huge snob when it comes to reviewing games. I enjoy the majority of the games that I buy and am a huge X-Men fan. That being said, this game is an absolute waste of money. I lost interest in this game within 15 minutes of playing it. The graphics and environments appear to barely challenge the initial XBOX hardware and do not belong on the 360.
