It's Official: THQ has offically destroyed the WWE video game franchise

Summary: Let me just start off by saying that I've been a WWE fan for most of my life, and still fondly remember the WWF Attitude era has a teenager. I've also bought every single Smackdown vs RAW game since it's 2004 series debut. I have done so, every year, merely because, despite how many flaws THQ had in the game, there was at least ONE thing that made the game salvageable.
Summary: At this point in the franchise, I'm expecting total suck from any future WWE releases that continue the "Smackdown vs Raw" name. Since this is basically a slightly improved rehash from last year (and the years before)'s game, I can't criticize it since I've already criticized it in last year's game review of mine.
Summary: My friends and I first played Smackdown vs. Raw for two features: Create-a-Wrestler and GM Mode. One of us played as the GM and the others made up CAWs, then we ran a multi-player "season" mode, where the CAWs started as newbies and worked their way up to main eventers. Along the way, the GM would give the CAWs more ability points and adjust the ability points of the other wrestlers as he saw fit. Geeky, yes, but we had a lot of fun, because we had a lot of options.
Summary: Ok the gameplay has been tweaked and feels a little smoother.. but the excellent single player game in 2008 edition has now been replaced by 'road to wrestlemania' in which you have a choice of only a few of the biggest stars.. the other 'single player campaign' is just a series of match after match with no storylines or training... - gets very repetitive very quickly.. overall.. not worth the money.. get 2008 instead.. last alot longer and is much more fun...
Conclusion: this is an ok game the road to wrestlemania is the only plus. there is no gm mode, the created superstar career path is pathetic theres no story 2 its just matches, the create a finisher mode is very limited an the superstar roster is not current this game is not a patch on past titles, its not even as good as some of the ps1 games play wise.
Excerpt: Being huge on Wrestling Games, this game had a massive reputation to uphold, as well as high expectations on its shoulders. Sorry to say, that WWE Smackdown Vs. RAW 2009 Featuring the lackluster ECW, doesnt live up to anything but mediocracy. Lets start off with the good. A concept of Road to Wrestlemania, which is good for a time, but then you have to do some all over again to see what happens if you make different decisions. Now the Badness.
Summary: It pains me to give a Raw vs Smackdown game a bad review but I have to because I was lied to. All the reviews, previews and adverts tell you is it's all about the tag teams, tag tag tag that's all you hear, so I thought, fantastic a tag story mode. Yeh there's a tag story mode, for Batista and Rey...... that's it. If you don't want to go Rey and Batista, tough luck, they are the only ones you can go for co-op story mode.
Summary: ...weil die Grafik erneut, und das nach so vielen Teilen, immmer noch nicht auf einer leistungsfähigeren Engine beruht (nach wie vor Clipping-Fehler, die nicht passieren DÜRFEN) und immer noch meilenweit von der "Fight Night Round 3"-Grafik weg, die das Mindeste wäre, was ich dieses Jahr erwartet hätte, es nach wie vor keinen individuellen Storymodus für jeden einzelnen Wrestler gibt, sondern gerade nur mal für sieben und, schlussendlich, weil auch hier mit dem Begriff...
Summary: Habe mir das Spiel auch sofort gekauft und ich muss sagen, mega enttäuschend. Die Road to Wrestlemania ist einfach viel zu kurz, klar kann man mit 6 verschiedenen Superstars, die Road spielen, aber ich spiele lieber mit meinen Lieblingen als mit den anderen. Des weiteren stört mich an der Road das einen die Gegner nur fertig machen und man fast die ganzen 80 Tage braucht um sich mal vernünftig zu rächen.
Excerpt: La verdad es que todos los años THQ promete y promete que esta franquicia se renovará con la entrega próxima a salir pero la verdad es que el resultado siempre es el mismo: un juego reciclado,a la larga aburre. Básicamente el juego recicla un 90% de los elementos vistos en la versión del año pasado, vengo viendo las mismas animaciones de los luchadores, de las llaves y de los golpes con armas desde el smackdown!: here comes the pain!
