Excerpt: Team 17 once did their level best to jump the shark, but, as seems to be the trend these days, have established a series reboot, travelled right back to their humble beginnings and rediscovered the magic all over again.
Conclusion: Ultimately, it’s Worms’ lack of features that is its downfall. There’s a semblance of a map editor, but there’s no real user control. Why can’t I place my own objects or shape my own terrain? Why do I have to let the computer do it? And why don’t I have access to weapons that past Worms installments have had? These questions, as well as others, are what Worms veterans will be wondering when they fire up the 800-point XBLA offering.
Conclusion: With the ability to make your own team, name them, and take them on live for an all out war, this game just screams good times at you. I really urge you to download this game now. Also be aware that more content for the game is on its way so there will be plenty of things to blow up and tons of worms to kill. Have fun and see you all online.
Summary: Worms for the Xbox Live Arcade does an excellent job of recreating the fun and excitement of the series, but it's slightly disappointing to see so many modes and weapons stripped from the experience. Still, if you're looking for a great game to play with friends or online, then you can't go wrong with Worms! This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on.
Excerpt: If you're into video gaming, which I think you are when you're reading this article on this site, it's quite nearly impossible that you don't know Worms. It has been released on almost every system, so it was no surprise we got a Saturn version as well. For those of you who somehow missed Worms, I'll do my best to fill you in. Think of non-peaceful Lemmings, but with guns and without the puzzle-elements.
