Wolfenstein

Thunderbolt Games
16 August 2010
  • Excerpt: As I sit here trying to type up my thoughts on my jaunt through Wolfenstein , the most recent update to the classic first-person franchise, I can’t remember anything but my frustration with it. I beat the game. I completed a lot of the optional missions. I earned a handful of achievements, even a dumb one for smashing 1,000 destructible objects in the environment. Something compelled me to complete the single-player campaign, but I couldn’t tell you what.

Violence against Nazis at center of over-the-top shooter.

Common Sense Media
14 December 2009
  • Summary: Parents need to know that this Mature-rated first-person shooter game features plenty of violence, blood, and gore. It's not out of context in this fictional Nazi universe, but there is a fair amount of blood, and lots of weapons and dismemberment in the game. Players will hear cussing in the game, and they may hear more by playing online with others in multiplayer modes.

Wolfenstein 3D (EU Ver)

True achievements
9 December 2009
  • Conclusion: The enemies are varied, but you'll know exactly how to deal with them once you get a feel for their strategy, weapon and their iconic German phrases that are shouted when they know you're around. (ACHTUNG!) All in all, it is a steal for 400MSP if you're a nostalgia junkie. If you like looking at how the entire genre of FPS started out, this is worth a look-in too.

Test Wolfenstein

Generation NT
30 November 2009
  • Conclusion: Wolfenstein assure avec talent son retour.

  • Conclusion: Please feel free to add your comments, thoughts, questions and any other useful information about what's going on with these problems, again I don't really want to see community members telling me that Activision is working on it, I want to see an official press release saying it, maybe there was already one, if so please send me the link.

Review: Wolfenstein (Microsoft Xbox 360)

Diehard GameFAN
20 November 2009
  • Summary: : Wolfenstein is essentially a melding of old and modern FPS mechanics that comes together into a game that’s stylish and enjoyable, but not especially original or interesting in the long term. The story is solid enough to carry the game along, the presentation is solid, and the gameplay is simple enough to understand while being enjoyable enough to keep you going for a while.

Wolfenstein

media-assault.com
10 November 2009
  • Excerpt: Ask an older gamer about Wolfenstein and you'll likely get one of two reactions: Castle Wolfenstein , a 2D, stealth-based computer game from the 1980s, or Wolfenstein 3D , an early 1990s first-person shooter that many point to as the catalyst for the popularity of that style of game. I am old enough to have played -- and completed -- both games. I enjoyed both of them even though they're very different.

Wolfenstein

Auracore MediaWorks
23 September 2009
  • Summary: Nein! Ist pronounced Volfenshteen!
  • Pros: Satisfying gunplay and weaponry; veil powers add a cool twist to the WWII genre; solid graphics and presentation; good level design; upgrade system for weapons and magic is well thought out; loads of hidden items to find and unlock in both single and multiplayer; fun yet cheesy b-movie storyline.
  • Cons: Hub sections are repetitive and don't add a lot to the experience; bland multiplayer; there's nothing shockingly original here; the game is more linear than you'd think.

Wolfenstein Review

PlayDevil
22 September 2009
  • Summary: " Wolfenstein " deserves a better score than it’s got. It’s got an excellent (albeit short) single player with a fantastic hub city and a great final level. However, the multiplayer, which is really fun at first, soon gets pretty tiresome, especially when you realise it’s totally broken.
