Summary: Thankfully I bought this game used. The quality assuarance is horrible. Early on in the game (30-45 minutes in), when I get to the Forest Hut, the cut-scene is not there and the game is locked so you can take no actions. I restarted three times (selecting the "see my love again" option) and the same result happened. I then selected the "undecided" option and the scene worked.
Summary: Go in to my first session with the game, I wasn't expecting much. Most of the reviews I read gave it an average, at best score, but it was at a low-enough price (less than $10, I believe, at the time) that I thought I'd give it a try. And yes, graphically and what-not, it's not the best out there. However, as long as a game plays well and has a good story, I don't care if the graphics are great. From what I saw of the game, it wasn't that bad.
Summary: I found the first boss kill impossible, even on easy. Without being able to complete the first boss kill, you cannot proceed in the game and will be unable to complete about 4/5 of the game. I traded in the xbox 360 version and got the PC version so that I could download some mods to get past the first boss kill. The game is otherwise very enjoyable. I would recommend the PC version unless you are a glutton for frustration.
Summary: Those who follow my video game reviews know that I have a very hard time with games that are jerky. I dislike Bethesda games simply for that reason. The jerky camera motions make those games virtually unplayable for me because along with the jerky motion comes vertigo and a headache. I really wanted to like this game, but the jerky camera motion nauseated me. I played for several hours until I just couldn't take it anymore. It seemed like too much work.
Summary: This game made me sad. I wanted to like it. Clearly the budget wasn't much - the models look like programmer art, so does the textures. The voice acting is something out of a bad B flick porno flick, down to the random missing timings: people talk over each other. The story is, meh. And the game play and controls are without polish.
