Overall the result is an enjoyable real-time strategy game. Universe at War: Earth Assault comes recommended even if just as a rental, you’ll find yourself enjoying the game though it’s not one that will set any groundbreaking records due to the slip ups mentioned. Though not reaching full and expected potential it ranks very close to doing so. Once again the ladies and gentlemen at Petroglyph haven’t disappointed consumers. Read more

Too, if the developers had embraced the inherent B-movie qualities of Universe at War: Earth Assault they could have had something unique on their hands -- a Command & Conquer style game with a cheesy Mars Attacks vibe. The actual result is a rather competent if unbalanced RTS that takes itself too seriously. Plus, it's facing some stiff RTS competition, not the least of which is found in the latest Command & Conquer games it's so easily compared with. Universe at War:... Read more

Real Time Strategy games on consoles aren’t normally the best fare, particularly if you’re handy with a keyboard and mouse and used to being able to create control groups of a variety of different vehicles and troops. Maybe I should rephrase that: consoles aren’t the best platforms for RTS games because of the control systems. While first person shooters evolved magically on consoles, the RTS has, and is, struggling. It’s certainly not the end of the world but... Read more

I too have played very many Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games over the years, from Warcraft, to C&C, to Starcraft - even to recent games like Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander. This game is GOOD - it's well thought out and it is VERY innovative - I'll get to that soon. But the issues are and will continue to be hardware limitations of the Xbox console. I find it hard to believe myself - the Xbox uses three processors and it can't do any better than this? At default... Read more or see product

Awesome RTS! I love this game. Not since Starcraft has an RTS been this good. Don't listen to the reviews. If you like this genre you will love this game. There are some slight tech issues, but all RTS fans know that just comes with the territory. Read more
