Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review

DailyGame
7 October 2012
  • Excerpt: I know I’m going against the grain by saying that, but game reviews are subjective, and that’s honestly how I feel. I’m not going to go so far as to say including Grimlock and his T-Rex form, or including the Combaticons and their Voltron-like Bruticus form, is jumping the shark. But, with all the grandiose environmental explosions and transformations, with all the form-changing possibilities, and with these fan-favorite Transformers now in the mix, it feels like High...

Transformers Fall of Cybertron – Review (Xbox 360)

Gametactics
27 September 2012
  • Conclusion: It’s not overly long and doesn’t include much other than the main campaign and multiplayer. However, the gameplay is varied and highly refined. It’s worth a play for fans of the franchise and fans of the genre.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review

VideoGamer.com
27 September 2012
  • Excerpt: There were two types of people born in the 80s; those who played with Transformers toys as a child, and girls. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, High Moon Studios' third stab at the iconic license, often feels like it's aimed squarely at the kind of people who knew the pain of owning four out of the five Combaticons required to construct Bruticus. I never did get that bloody Swindle.

Intense and frenetic combat game for fans of this brand.

Common Sense Media
26 September 2012
  • Summary: Parents need to know Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is an action game rated for "Teens." Combat is the core mechanic. While fighting against giant, transformable machines, the action can be intense and frenetic. Enemies cry out when damaged and emit a bluish-black fluid that looks like blood.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review

PlayDevil
24 September 2012
  • Summary: " Transformers: Fall of Cybertron " is a genuinely good game- and not just a good Transformers game. The beautiful frantic action makes for an enjoyable campaign – despite a few, albeit small, mis-steps. The series’ enjoyable multiplayer also makes a good return, and I’m really looking forwards to seeing where High Moon can take the series next time. It appears, when it comes to Transformers games that these guys really do have the touch and the power!

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

D+PAD
23 September 2012
  • Conclusion: As a package, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron’s lack of ambition is countered by an obvious fondness for the Transformers themselves and the amount of polish that has been lavished on its presentation and mechanics. Gamers looking for something new will find little here to draw them in, but as a celebration of Hasbro’s iconic cast of characters there is much here to be recommended, and plenty for High Moon Studios to build on should it get another chance to work with the...
