Tomb Raider

True achievements
22 August 2014
  • Conclusion: If you remove the puzzles, exploration, if you add a dash of multiplayer game and a poor kind of FPS, all the beautiful scenery in the world will never make the bride more beautiful. If you want to see a third opus of the Tomb Raider movie without Angelina Jolie, you will be fully satisfied.

Tomb Raider

ActionTrip
15 March 2013
  • Conclusion: Tomb Raider is a third-person shooter with sporadic puzzle elements. However, the game can astonish in the same way that it disappoints. Our main beef is that the developers have spent an excessive amount of time polishing and perfecting those cinematics and QTEs, instead of developing more engaging...
  • Pros: Great narrative pacing, a new character is born and we like her, great music, some gorgeous locations and well-animated characters on display, fun combat and action;
  • Cons: Too much emphasis on action and too little on puzzles and exploration, QuickTime Events are overused as well, multiplayer seems a bit obsolete.

Tomb Raider

Defunct Games
8 March 2013
  • Summary: After nearly two decades, Crystal Dynamics finally gets it right. Tomb Raider is an action-packed thrill ride full of amazing set-pieces, sharp writing, a fun science fiction story and tons of enemies to gun down. Tomb Raider is a game worthy of the Croft name!

Tomb Raider (Xbox 360)

PC Magazine
4 March 2013
  • Conclusion: The Tomb Raider reboot breathes new life into an iconic adventurer.
  • Pros: Impressive graphics and game world. A far more human Lara Croft. Incredibly cinematic action sequences. Quality voice acting.
  • Cons: Forgettable secondary characters. Occasionally weak dialogue. Upgrade menu may prove confusing to some.

Tomb Raider Review

Xbox 360 achievements
26 February 2013
  • Conclusion: There is a platform here for Crystal Dynamics to take Lara’s shenanigans to a new level, but a reliance on fairly bog standard shooter mechanics just doesn’t do the franchise any justice and as a result, means Tomb Raider falls short of being a truly great game.

Tomb Raider Legend

  • Excerpt: Lara Croft is still one of the most well-known game-icons. While she started leading her own life and become more and more successful as babe and culture phenomenon her games started going downhill after the first ones.

Tomb Raider

Strategy Informer
26 February 2012
  • Conclusion: Flawed as its presentation of the young Lara story may be, Tomb Raider is a great game first and an interesting story second. The latter certainly stumbles frequently throughout, but I was never put-off enough to actually stop playing - chiefly because the gameplay I was indulging in was so...

About
16 December 2011
  • Summary: Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the follow-up to the popular Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light released a few years ago. Temple of Osiris delivers the same blend of puzzle solving and combat wrapped in a co-op shell, but is a little easier and shorter than its predecessor.
  • Pros: Satisfying co-op locally and / or online; solid gameplay; interesting puzzles
  • Cons: So-so story; bland combat; too easy
