  1. Xbox Evolved

    8.3/10

Overall, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. is an amazing entry to the flight simulator genre and a alternative to Ace Combat. I for one enjoyed the campaign more than I did Ace Combat because one, I loved the HELL out of GRAW 1 and 2. Second, I didn’t care for not really understand anything that was going on in Ace Combat 6; not the case here. Read more

    • Environments, Co-op mode, realistic variety of planes, Tom Clancy
    • No Split-screen, only one competitive mode.

There are many aspects in this game that guarantee a decent experience no matter where your preferences lie. For some reason though, it doesn't quite push the envelope in terms of gameplay and it does feel slightly less entertaining than, say, Ace Combat 6. It does, however, stand as one of the best-looking aerial combat games on the market and we do recommend you give it a whirl. Read more

    • Maps look sweet, cool and exciting single-player missions, a wide selection of planes, altogether quite fun;
    • Short-ish single-player, wingmen not very helpful.

Kick the tires and light the fires! Ubisoft brings us a new flight game in the form of Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. which is deemed as an official Tom Clancy product. So that can only be a good thing, right? Well, I am a huge fan of the Tom Clancy games but I honestly feel that this one may be reaching a little to include itself with the likes of Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. Read more

HAWX puts you on the cockpit of an F-18 Super Hornet at the start of the campaign. Immediately afterwards the player is hired as a PMC aka mercenary, flying missions for the highest bidder across the globe. In a more or less ‘predicted’ twist of the plot half-way through the single player campaign, its time to switch sides again, following a more or less absurd plot that has Artemis, your former employer launch a direct assault against the United States. • First modern air combat since Ace Combat 6, good selection of planes, interesting concept.
    • Ground graphics are bad at low altitude, dubious plot, too short combat distance, short single player campaign, relatively easy, insufficient wingmen commands.

If HAWX would have had a decent multiplayer and several of the other downpoints would have been taken care of, one could have spoken of a true classic. Unfortunately it now just remains an ordinary flight sim with the Tom Clancy name attached to it. Read more

    • Extra depth in the Tom Clancy universe, Lots of jets, Detail of planes, ERS, Assistance Off, Experience system

All of this makes for a very playable action game, even if what you're actually doing is largely that same-old shooty planes stuff we've been doing for years. Read more

    • Look great, Aerial acrobatics are fun
    • Missions need more variety, Lacks any real depth

A well polished flight action game that can bring some fun. Read more

    • Simple controls; easy to get into; a number of planes and options to unlock.
    • Combat gets really simplistic; too much disconnect from the gameplay; multiplayer options are weak.

Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. is an aerial warfare title from Ubisoft Romania. Their previous works include Silent Hunter III and IV as well as the Blazing Angels series. The Silent Hunter titles were well received but the Blazing Angels series has been pretty mediocre. Will they break the trend and make H.A.W.X. a top gun? Read more

Tom Clancy games can be quite hit or miss. They usually involve popping towel headed terrorists, in genuine world locales with super realistic gun fights. Hawx breaks from this trend however, it being all about the fighter planes. Read more

Man has always desired to fly. It’s what drove the Wright Brothers to create the first airplane, and it’s why characters like Superman are still popular today, but it’s quite the lofty dream. Since we may never be able to fly like the man of steel – video games may be the closest we get – they’re the perfect way to escape reality and get lost in the clouds…most of the time. Read more

Ace Combat 6 got me back into flight games. Being able to use the Ace Combat 6 Flight Controllers make this game awsome. The graphics are great, the mission briefings do tend to get long from time to time, but they never make the game unbearable. I highly reccomend getting this game. Can't wait to see what H.A.W.X. 2 has to offer. Read more

I bought this game mainly because my friend had it, and it was on sale for $29.99. After playing it some, I am hooked. This is a fatastic game and at $30, you can't go wrong. I play mostly FPS so getting used to a flying game was hard at first...especially for us old heads. Read more

My Partner went on and on and on for this game when i came out and he played the demo you can freely download from xbox live over and over till i finally felt sorry enough to buy it for him, He hasnt come off it since and its a worthwell buy, My only problem is that it is far to pricey!, I think 40 pound is far too much money for a game!
