Better than Janes JASF
10 March 2014
Summary: More realistic than Jane's. More planes to fly sooner in the game. Bottom line with this though, is XBOX flight sims are always going to be pretty arcade like, and this one is no different. If you're looking for a game to satisfy a craving for a PC-like air combat sim, there just aren't any out there for the consoles. This, and all the other console sims get boring real quick.
Not bad...but with glaring problems, when compared to the superior orginal

Summary: What a disappointment...sort of. This is actually a really good game, it really is. It has a great story and an interesting 'back and forth' between playable characters from the US, Russia and the UK. But the problems are very noticable, as well. First off, the new "realness" (that is, the flight experience on the game compared to 'real world' flying) is perhaps too real.
Summary: Middle of the road for thrills and action. Microsoft has once again allowed vendors to put a game out that doesn't care about anyone outside their standards. Left handed people will have trouble playing because there are no provisions for us in the game and naturally Microsoft can't be bothered to provide a left handed controller. Games OK but xbox and microsoft impress me like a bad case of the flu.
An unfortunate disappointment (Campaign review only)

Summary: Let me first off say that I was a huge fan of the first HAWX installment and an overall huge fan of anything Clancy. I was eager to get this game because I had seen some great in-game footage of the AC-130 mission and landings were now included. Before I start telling you why this game is a disappointment let me tell you what is good about it. 1) The graphics are just as good if not better than the first HAWX.
Summary: I think it was clear when they released the game at 49.99 that they felt it wasn't a premier game. Over HAWX they improved the graphics and added a couple of neat features. The "neat features" I refer to are the ability to finally take off and land (also taxi) even on an aircraft carrier at times. The story mode isn't that great, it has nothing to do with the book (neither did HAWX for that matter).
