Conclusion: So TNT Racers is a surprisingly good little game. It doesn’t really break any new ground and comes in under par on an audiovisual level but it’s fun, accessible and fully featured. Its asking price is also right at 800 Microsoft Points. A great one for a family game night.
Summary: If you were ever a fan of R.C. Pro-AM , Mario Kart , Diddy Kong Racing , or even Wacky Racers on the Dreamcast, this is the game for you. Yeah, it could have stood for a little story/character, but R.C. Pro AM didn’t have any of that either and it’s a classic (which is why I omitted Story from the review score this go around.
Conclusion: The game isnt bad but can really be frustrating, play it if you have friends to play with (way more fun) or wait for a deal for this game, i find 800msp a bit much for this game. :GOOD: -Fun when you have 3 friends to play with -Classic -We all love tiny cars :LESS GOOD: -ONE tiny error can make you lose, sometimes you really need to concentrate. -Not saying the musics are bad, but its a bit repetitive after some parts... Sorry again if my English isnt perfect.
Conclusion: Although TNT Racers can be accurately categorized as an arcade racer in the mold of classics like Micro Machines, it is not a cheap rip-off. Zippy cars, challenging tracks, tough AI opposition, and a lengthy list of cool power-ups make it a catchy racing game with just enough of its own personality to keep you coming back for more.
Pros: Fast-paced races with lots of action, Great variety of power-ups, Good mix of tracks and race types in solo challenges, Groovy jazz and cartoon chase music.
Cons: Camera is too close for comfort on some tracks, Not many people playing online.
Summary: Demolition derbies and time trials are the highlights of TNT Racers, a pick-up-and-play kart racing game heavy on action but light on reality. This Xbox Live Arcade game is old-fashioned arcade racing, with loads of souped-up jalopies, lots of power-ups that can be used to make the bad guys go boom, and enough speedy race circuits to keep your trigger finger on the gas for a fair number of hours.
Pros: Fast-paced races with lots of action, Great variety of power-ups, Good mix of tracks and race types in solo challenges, Groovy jazz and cartoon chase music
Cons: Camera is too close for comfort on some tracks, Not many people playing online
Excerpt: Early on, TNT Racers (the “TNT” is short for “Tracks ’N’ Tricks”) seems best suited for little kids, with its pokey pace and its candy-cannon and confetti-mine pickups. The first 15 solo “challenges” are easy-peasy, sustained only by the tracks’ colorful, cartoonish look. The pace picks up for the remaining 30 events, but once everything’s faster, your handling feels a bit twitchy.
Pros: + Online races across nine bright environments sprinkled with pick-ups, small jumps, and slight shortcuts.
Cons: - Solo challenges swing from tepid and tedious to exasperating., - Capricious camera is out to get you., ? Why must you pick a control scheme before every race?
Conclusion: With a little patience you can make sense of TNT Racers' chaotic, 'last man standing' gameplay, but there are so many elements jammed in that you never feel like there are any real tactics involved in playing.
