Conclusion: With an emphasis on the pro feel and PGA Tour modes, I expected Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 to be vastly different than the regular Xbox version, but it’s not. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 for the Xbox 360 is a bit too similar to the regular Xbox version for my tastes and I fear that only those with HDTV’s will reap the benefits. Sure, this game looks far superior, but it plays the same without many of the cool modes to take advantage of golf that allows post-flight shot shaping.
Excerpt: It's safe to say that EA hasn't done itself any favours with the Xbox 360 launch line-up; at least not with the people that can spot half-baked ports. Just like FIFA, Madden and NBA Live, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 on the Xbox 360 simply can't be recommended to current-gen console or PC owners. A lack of courses, missing game modes and a hefty price tag, all combine to make the game an enjoyable, but disappointing next-gen debut.
Excerpt: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, an introduction. We've been fortunate to review the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games for the last few years and during that time the series has become the number one console golf game. It was welcome news then that a version was announced for the launch of the Xbox 360.
Summary: If you are looking for more with the Tiger Woods PGA Golf 06 on Xbox 360, then you will be out of luck. Those golf fans out there that haven't already, can buy the same game on Xbox, but with more features, less quality of visuals (although since when did you need to see each blade of grass to play golf?), and a cheaper price.
Excerpt: In Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, gamers will attempt to settle the old debate of just who is the #1 Golfer of All Time. They'll play golf legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan on their terms and in their specific eras (equipment, clothing and all). However, Tiger Woods is also there and is after the same goal. It's your job to find him, stop him, and ultimately supplant him as the #1 golfer of every era.
Excerpt: series makes its debut on the Xbox 360 with a game that's more challenging and more exciting than any of its recent predecessors, despite its limited number of game modes and options, and lays a solid foundation for the franchise on next-gen consoles.
Excerpt: One of EA Sports' flaghship franchises is Tiger Woods PGA Tour. This year, the tour is coming to an Xbox 360 near you, and we got Matt James to check it out for us. With some frustrating new gameplay elements and (surprisingly) fewer available courses than it's previous-gen cousins, this isn't going to be the crown jewel of the Tiger Woods franchise. But if you're looking for a golf game on the 360, it's all you're going to get.
