Summary: While the core fighting system is solid and the character designs and animations are really gorgeous, the lack of characters, game modes, and busted network play brought brought the overall experience down. It's not a bad fighting game, but there are much better out there.
Summary: KoF XII is a solid fighting game. Sure it's not as simple as the more recent KoF titles but this game is a restart to the roots of KoF. I played this game and I was taken back to my times at the arcade playing KoF 98 and I loved it. Now what I was sad about was what most people are the lack of content.
Summary: Got this game during the member's club discount and have to say this is one is a step down from previous KOF. The roster is so much smaller now like it's 94 all over again. But as a game itself it's still decent enough to keep me coming back and try out everyone in the roster.
Summary: This game is NOT what you see in the arcade. The arcade version is thing of beauty while the 360 version is a pixelated monstrosity that never should have been exposed to the public. I'm not talking about a little bit of pixelation that you can overlook after a couple of cocktails with friends- this looks worse than a PS2 port. If there is anything about the arcade version you liked, do yourself a favor and pretend this game was never released for the 360. I wish I did.
Summary: I love this game. OK, I get where everyone is rating it so low. Limited backgrounds, people wanting more fighters etc. BUT! Playing this in HD is great! I love the drawn backgrounds, and as a spectator they are fun to check out while others are playing. Best 2D fighting game looks-wise I have played. If you're into KOF, I can't see why you wouldn't buy this especially if you have an HD TV. I rate graphics the best out there for a 2D fighter, along with MvC3.
Summary: This is definitely one of those games that are difficult to rate. What is does well, it does REALLY WELL. What is doesn't do well, it does horribly. KoF XII is definitely a mixed bag. Before I start, I will definitely recommend anyone interested in what this game has to offer to wait until KoF XIII. Otherwise, keep reading. Once again SNK Playmore reinvented the franchise, for better or worse.
