I'm not the biggest Terminator fan. I saw the original one about a hundred times when I was a kid. Linda Hamilton was so hot, even with her pillow-like '80s hair. The second one, where the guy turns into mercury; I saw that about 50 times. But after that, I can't remember anything about the franchise. Read more
All in all, unless you're a relentless fanatic who worships the franchise, Terminator Salvation isn't worth your time. It hardly warrants the full retail price ($60) considering it can be completed in less than four bloody hours. What can you say about a game that has a total of 11 Achievements to unlock? Not much. It's short. Shorter than any other game we've played this year or indeed the previous year. It's over before you can say: "endoskeleton." Not only that, but... Read more
The action could have been more interesting if there was a greater emphasis on the squad-based gameplay. Sure, playing in two-player co-op can compensate for the occasionally unenthusiastic AI but it would have added that extra layer of strategy and control. If Freedom Fighters could do it, we don’t see why we couldn’t have it here. Risking your neck to draw fire from three or four T-70s by jumping from cover to cover (a system that works well), only to have all your... Read more
Terminator Salvation is a completely linear adventure without any collectibles or hidden goodies to search for. Every weapon is highlighted with a green outline that is visible through walls, so you won't spend any time dillydallying. You can complete the story in under five hours, at which point your only options for replay are to play it in split-screen with a friend or to try it on a harder difficulty setting. There's not a lot of content here, and even the... Read more
But still, for all the things that Terminator Salvation did right, it’s hard to forgive its brevity. Charging a full $60 for a 3-4 hour experience is borderline criminal, no matter the quality of the game provided. The developer GRIN would have been much better served going the Watchmen route—putting Terminator Salvation in the PlayStation Network store and Xbox Live Marketplace, and selling the game for $20-$30, rather than shipping the game to retail at... Short - completed this in an afternoon (5 hours) on the hardest difficulty with my bf. Definately worth renting if you like shooting games but not worth buying at retail price. Read more
After reading some mixed reviews I thought I'd give it a chance as I've found some mixed review, low $ games pretty good in the past (e.g. Dark Sector, etc.). However, this is just terrible - the incredibly repetitive game play isn't much fun and it is very short. The entire game consists of walking forward to an open area, shooting crab like machines in the back, a couple of flying machines come in to distract you and then more crab machines. Afterwards you move forward... Read more
For real they should stop making movies into games and they should stop making games into movies this game is pretty horrible. The only movie that came from a video game was the first street fighter of course! Read more
My usual Good vs. Bad review (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! You have been warned) There isn't much to say about this game considering there isnt much IN the game but glitches and flaws in the first place... sooooo... The Good- ~ The trophies/achievements are easy to get... The Bad- ~ The framerate in the game (especially for cut-scenes) is off, making the game seem as if it was rushed... ~ Along with the framerate comes the graphics, which are those I'd probably see on a very... Fun: Started this on a sunday morning, finished on a sunday afternoon, doing all the usual sunday at home stuff inbetween. Easiest 1000G i've ever earnt, but if i'd bought it i would not be happy. Graphics look like they are a from a 360 game from 2006, there are only 4 enemies and once you get used to killing them they are stupidly easy. Even if you run out of ammo just do a suicide job and you respawn with your ammo stocks fully laden. The loading time are stupidly... Read more
