Super Meat Boy (XBLA) Review

Brainlazy
21 June 2011
  • Conclusion: I love this game. It is marvelously challenging, endlessly innovative, and every crevice is filled with tasty little extras. The only two complaints I have are matters of taste. In terms of difficulty, it may be a bit much for some people. I found myself teetering on the brink of frustration fairly often, and if it wasn’t for the excellent art style and sense of humor of the game, I might have been inclined to give up.

Super Meat Boy

  • Summary: My middle finger has been partially numb for over two weeks. I may have permanent nerve damage. I blame Super Meat Boy for this. The game doesn't actually requires use of the right middle finger (though I'm sure that wont stop a lot of you). Still, I'm 99% sure that Super Meat Boy is to blame for this new found injury. While playing some of the harder levels of the game, I had to block out internal and external stimuli in order to survive.

  • Excerpt: Platform games are classically associated with console gaming and are sadly becoming a dying breed so who would of thought a game originally released for the PC would become one of the best of the bunch. I always thought I was pretty good at platform games, defeating most of Nintendo and SEGA ’s offerings with relative ease; that was until I played Super Meat Boy , seriously, it brought me to tears on so many occasions.

Super Meat Boy - Video Game Accessibility Review

ablegamers.com
1 February 2011
  • Excerpt: Super Meat Boy is the definition of difficulty. It is by far one of the hardest games I've ever played and at the same time one of the most satisfying. The game is a platformer, developed by Team Meat, with simple controls and over 300 levels, with more coming. The game, as robust and crazy as it may be, does require a lot out of the player and it may not be the best game for disabled gamers to jump into.

  • Conclusion: This is a bloody marvellous game which combine a lot of skill with a brilliant story line, its main aim is to jump through numerous obstacles to rescue bandage girl and defeat the evil Dr Fetus who has kidnapped her. If you wish to be frustrated trying to 100% complete it then i suggest getting this game and although i have kicked my xbox a couple of times in anger i think this is a fully enjoyable game and suggest that any gamer wishing to numb their thumbs down to...

Super Meat Boy Review

VideoGamer.com
14 January 2011
  • Excerpt: Super Meat Boy is one of the reasons I play video games. It's bright, huge, colourful, funny and painfully annoying. This retro-revival darling immediately strikes a chord with anyone who can remember the early 90s, when platformers were king and the idea of a mid-mission checkpoint was entirely alien. You control a friendly-looking wad of meat and shuffle around hundreds of - if we're being painfully honest - increasingly evil levels.
