Star Trek: D-A-C Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: Other than the super-secret Achievement, the objectives in Star Trek D-A-C are all there for the taking. Of course, you are a bit at the mercy of either having friends to play against locally or those on Live, but at least you can rest assured that all but one of these are attainable during the...

Star Trek D-A-C review (X360)

HonestGamers
30 May 2009
  • Excerpt: Star Trek is a brand steeped in history, so it may come as a surprise that D-A-C comes with none of that baggage. Don’t know Spock from Pickard, Voyager from Deep Space Nine? Fear not; there’s no traditional story-driven single-player campaign to speak of, with the developers instead choosing to...

  • Summary: A terrible game that wouldn’t be worthwhile at any price. Go see the movie instead, then go pick up Star Control 2 to see how this genre is done right.

  • Summary: There's nothing wrong with simplicity; after all, simple games can be lots of fun, assuming they're amusing enough to sustain your interest. Star Trek: D-A-C is simple--but so simple it's downright primitive, and its one-note gameplay can't compensate for a painfully scant array of features.
  • Pros: Conquest and Assault modes provide a bit of fun
  • Cons: The basic shooting action is bland, Only a few types of ships, Only a few modes, Only a few maps
