Split/Second Game Accessibility Review (XBox)

ablegamers.com
21 September 2010
  • Excerpt: Split/Second is an arcade racer that feels like it’d be right at home among the games at a bowling alley. It is a racer like most others, though players have the ability to call on choppers to drop explosives on opponents, topple structures, blow up idle cars parked alongside the course, drift through corners, draft behind opponents, and various other family-friendly activities. Did I mention this game is brought to us by Disney?

Split/Second

ActionTrip
10 June 2010
  • Conclusion: Apart from a few minor AI issues Split/Second is actually an enjoyable game. The hectic gameplay mechanics lead to some pretty engaging racing moments and things get even more exciting when you jump into online multiplayer in modes such as Elimination and Survival. Sometimes you may escape total wreckage by an inch, whether by skillful driving or out of sheer luck. Either way it can be an immensely fun ride.
  • Pros: A decent arcade racer with flashy cars and high-speed chases through crumbling hazardous environments, cool atmosphere, a rather unique recipe resulting in some really exciting moments, especially in multiplayer;
  • Cons: The formula of Split/Second gets repetitive relatively quickly, so you may not want to stick around for long, minor AI issues.

S.W.A.T.

High-Def Digest
8 August 2006
  • Conclusion: 'S.W.A.T.' is a big, dumb, loud action movie. It was a big hit at the box office, however, so if you've already gotten this far into this review, you probably don't care what I have to say anyway. But as a Blu-ray release, this one is no great shakes. The transfer is indeed mighty fine, sure, and the soundtrack even better, but extras are slim and the disc is quite pricey considering what you get.

Split/Second: Velocity

Gamereactor
19 May 2010
  • Cons: Variationsfattig racing, tråkig bilfysik, gimmick-aktig spelmekanik

Expert Review

21 April 2010
  • Summary: Rieccoci.
