This should have been a brilliant game...

Summary: This should have been a brilliant game. Unfortunately, it is saddled with what is quite possibly the most horrifically confusing game mechanics that I can't play this game for more than an hour or two before wanting to throw my system against a wall. After about seven years of movie adaptations (not including Ultimate Spider-Man, which doesn't count), we are given our first straight video-game adaptation of classic Spidey.
Summary: I'm not a spiderman fan, nor have I played the other games. I just saw some gameplay videos which looked innovative so I decided to give it a try. My thoughts: *The control layout stinks. My hands cramped up from playing the game. *The fighting was enjoyable but the length of some of the missions and boss fights were so dragged out to the point where it became tedious. *The camera is bad.
Summary: Smooth graphics and fluid motions. Gets a little too button-mashy after awhile, but the story is pretty decent. Swinging around the city, jumping, and climbing up buildings is very well done. Lack of online multiplayer means you'll probably just play the game once through and then replay some parts making different decisions, but eventually get bored and move to another game.
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (Xbox 360): Do Whatever a Spider Can
29 September 2009
Summary: The history of recent 'Spiderman' games has been as topsy turvy as those of the films. 'Spiderman 2' is by far the best game and film in the series, both building on what had gone before and making them better. However, like the third film, the third game sucked. Somehow Activision had managed to suck all the imagination and fun from the previous games, even though the third game was designed on a more powerful console.
Pros: Fun, good swinging mechanic, Wolverine appears
My spider sense is definetely not tingling on this game

Summary: There hasnt been a spider man movie for a while yet a game is out. Web of shadows follows the web swingers adventure as he deals with a venom symbiote infection to the rest of the city. The story makes you meets some familiar faces rom venom, kingpin to wolverine which is always nice to see. The story is god to go through once with options to play as good or bad and having multiple endings depending on your choices in the game.
Pros: Good and bad choices, upgradeable moves and combos
Cons: Same web swinging, terrible voice acting and graphics
Conclusion: the game seemed really good and probably the best spiderman game but having played and finished spiderman xbox, spiderman 2 xbox, spiderman 3 xbox360 % spiderman friend or foe it just seemed i was going through the paces again and i basically got bored into it and gave up. if its your 1st spiderman game then itll be awesome..no doubt!
Conclusion: Being a Spider-Man fan, I bought this even with the average reviews. The story and voice acting in this leave a lot to be desired, but swinging around the city is pure joy. The game has made a few improvements to the older games, but kept a few of the worst aspects. The fighting does tend to get a bit repetitive and there is a total lack of side missions. So why did I give it three stars? The web swinging. Its all I really did and I loved it.
