Summary: I'm surprised there are so many four and five star reviews of this product. Frankly, it's not even worth three. For starters, this game was billed as a cooperative campaign--there is none. They added a terrible coop mode after release that has four missions, each worse than the last. With terrible controls and a completely broken ammo system, it's more frustrating than fun, and not worth it. If you're going to play it, rent it or pick up a cheap used copy.
Summary: Overall it has a good story but as an shooter...it's not that great. <edit-replaced FPS with the generic 'shooter' so as not to mistakenly use FPS (first person shooter) instead of TPS (some report on the movie Office Space...I mean third person shooter) that was causing confusion pointed out in the comments> Problems: Lets start with the basics. Broken cover system. It's not as punishing until you get to the Fubar level. Then be prepared to die...a lot.
Summary: The game story is stupid, They didnt but alot of time into the mechanics of the game movement is horrible between cover its like the game wasnt made to be in cover and instead of covering and vaulting being one button its another which when moving from cover to cover its really annoying when you sprint you have so sense of direction movement is very stiff this isnt no gears where you can sprint a direct where you are going to it is releastic for the fact that on the...
Summary: There is a lot of shooting to do in this game, so if you like a good first person shooter you would probably enjoy this game. I played it through a second time in case I had missed the plot, but still seemed to spend a lot of time killing fellow American troops to get through the levels. I had wondered if a different approach would give a different result. Found it quite disappointing and have now sold it on.
Summary: I never really followed this game pre-release and just bought it on impulse along with pre-ordering "Sleeping Dogs". Therefore to say I was disappointed would be a little inaccurate as I never had high hopes for it in the first place. Let me start off by saying that if you are a relatively seasoned TPS or even FPS player who is looking to play through the campaign on a lower difficulty you can probably do the whole campaign in around 5 hours, without even rushing.
I must be playing a different version of this game to other reviewers!

Summary: Am I missing a trick here? A lot of reviewers have praised this game and I'm sorry, but I disagree. The story is quite well thought out and the sound effects and music are quite cool and the fact that you can tag enemies for your squad mates to take out is ok, but this is where the praise ends. The controls are shocking, the cover system just doesn't work as it should. Even the most basic movement can be fiddley.
