Summary: this is pretty much a solid 2-D platforming sonic game. if you played any of the original games, you'll feel right at home with gameplay. the homing attack was actually usefull in the game as well. the game does get very challenging later in the game (by the time you're at mad gear zone) and out of all the 2-D sonic games i played, this game probably has the HARDEST finale boss (sonic 3 being the runner up).
Summary: The G.I. review was fair, accurate, and should be your gauge when determining whether or not to download it. I had a lot of fun with this game, and I didn't think that 1200 MS was too much. (If you can get it cheaper in a future "Deal of the Week", waste NO time doing so.) All of the levels felt familiar, and I'm sure that they were remixed old school levels. Which, if that is the case, it seems a little shady to call it "The sequel that I waited 16 years to play.
Summary: This game is both what the Sonic franchise needed and what it didn't need all in one package. What it needed: 2steps forward A reboot on the console front. Lets face it all the previous Sonic games on the consoles were not real Sonic games. They had sonic on them. But thats like Mario Party isn't a real Mario game. He's just there.

It goes back to Robotnik is doing bad stuff, go stop him storylines, simply 2D gameplay and all that we used to love about the megadrive games. Doesn't it? Well Sonic 4's graphics are actually kind of nice. They look slightly fake, but they do look nice and work quite well. It looks like ...
Pros: More sonic, looks ok
Cons: Silly physics, nostalgia for nostalgia's sack
Excerpt: "...the release of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game so when I was old enough to play video games (lets say about 5 or 6, so in 1999), there were already a magnitude of Sonic the Hedgehog titles available. In fact, in 1999 the first 3D title, Sonic Adventure was released. The games I had were as follows. The date in the brackets was their European release date:Sonic the Hedgehog (Mega Drive, 23 June 1991) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ...
Pros: A welcome return to the original Sonic the Hedgehog titles .
Excerpt: "...that the world's fastest hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog, was born. 18 years later, and Sonic is still as popular as ever. With titles on the Mega Drive/ Genesis, Game Gear, dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and of course the Wii, Sonic has most certainly had his array of adventures. During this time though, Sonic made the transition from 2D gameplay, to the 3D gameplay expected in line with today's gaming standards. For most of the old-school ...
