Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: It’s nice seeing the Sonic library making its way to XBLA, and I guess it’s safe to consider that Sonic 3 will be coming in the near future. Then the next one is Sonic & Knuckles…wait, can Sega find a way to pull that off on the Xbox 360? Emerald Hill—Clear the Emerald Hill Zone 1. (5 points) Fast Emerald—Beat Emerald Hill Zone 1 in under 35 seconds in single-player or co-op mode. (15 points) Fast Chemical—Beat Chemical Plant Zone 1 in under 45 seconds.

  • Conclusion: Even after all of these years I still love to play it and I cant wait til my baby is a couple years older becuase I am going to introduce it to him. At a price point of only $5 I dont see why anyone would not have it on their hard drive. If you have never played stop wasting time reading this review and go get the game.

Expert Review

GameSpot
13 September 2007
  • Summary: Sega has included Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in numerous collections throughout the years, so it's no surprise that the blue hedgehog's benefactors have made the game available for Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service. Despite that fact that it is 15 years old and runs on the same machine you play Gears of War on, you may be surprised that this classic run-and-jump platformer is still fun, as well as visually engaging.
  • Pros: Speedy gameplay and charming style still hold up, Save feature and achievements shore up the already strong single-player mode, You can play the versus mode over Xbox Live
  • Cons: You may have already played Sonic 2 to death on other systems, Can't play co-op over Xbox Live

XBLA: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Test

Eurogamer
14 September 2007
