Wake Them Up To Play | Sleeping Dogs DLC Review

newgamernation.com
12 April 2013
  • Conclusion: This is by far the best of all the DLC packs. Mixing in elements of fighting, shooting, and chases, Year of the Snake adds in just about everything you would normally see in the story potion of the game. With dedicated side missions, this DLC pack feels like an extra chapter in the world of Sleeping Dogs . Combining that with the fact that this DLC pack utilizes most of the map, there is plenty to do for the player.

Sleeping Dogs (Xbox 360) Review

411mania.com
5 September 2012
  • Summary: Sleeping Dogs is definitely one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2012. There’s no doubt about it. Leading up to the game’s release Sleeping Dogs appeared to be another generic open-world GTA clone, but it’s clear from the opening cutscene that Sleeping Dogs has an interesting story to tell. If you let the game get its hooks into you, you’ll find an enjoyable open-world action game that’s definitely worth your time.

Sleeping Dogs Xbox 360 Review

Console Obsession
3 September 2012
  • Excerpt: If not for Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs could have very well been one of those games that would have slept eternally. Originally the third game in the True Crime series, publisher Activision decided to throw it on the scrapheap, citing that the game didn’t do enough to compete with similar games. It was fortunate that it was saved from an undeserved death by Square Enix, then.

Sleeping Dogs

Strategy Informer

  • Conclusion: It's remarkable how well United Front Games have fostered this game. All the uncertainty and lack of future is eradicated for a consistently entertaining title. If Sleeping Dogs started life as an unloved orphan, it's now an adult that can hold its head high. Now the title has realised its potential, the Activision family will be regretting their decision to give up one of the year's surprise hits.

Review: Sleeping Dogs (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Gamer 2.0
25 August 2012
  • Conclusion: If there’s any gripe anybody can make with Sleeping Dogs , it’s with the game’s production values. While the game isn’t the best-looking (definitely not Square Enix’s), it might probably be because of the fact that it’s been on and off development due to Activision’s uncertainty of the game when it was True Crime . The game’s soundtrack is a mixed bag.

Sleeping Dogs Review

IGN Entertainment
14 August 2012
  • Conclusion: Sleeping dogs is a fantastic game that you need to play. It’s not without its faults, including weird glitches where characters don’t do what they’re supposed to do in a cutscene. There are times that the fantastic voice acting doesn’t really match with the sometimes-plasticky-looking facial animations. You already know my opinion on the motorcycle physics.

Sleeping Dogs

oxmonline.com
14 August 2012
  • Excerpt: It’s been a twisting road to release for Sleeping Dogs , which started life as True Crime: Hong Kong before Activision unceremoniously axed it last year. Square Enix swooped in to publish the now-standalone open-world game, and while it may not strongly advance the genre, it makes some solid tweaks while delivering ample action in a unique locale.
  • Pros: + Large, unique open-world setting with distinct flair., + Great action scenarios amid the undercover-cop premise.
  • Cons: ? Will Square Enix let
