Summary: I do not play much of the Skylanders games, mostly only coming in when the kids hit a puzzle or section they just can't beat. With that being said I had two kids (13 and 5) come to me worth their combined allowances which they had been saving for months to get this item. They had an appropriate plan for the split and had already counted up their funds.
Summary: I bought this for my 5 year old son. Prior to this game he had barely used an Xbox controller. Most of the jumping in the game is very tight so he got really frustrated at first and I had to help him make it past simple obstacles. He quickly caught on and eventually beat the game but still enjoys playing levels over and over. Note that I don't think these games are a bad deal.
Summary: My daughter loves skylanders. We purchased this for xbox after she had been playing it on a friend's Playstation. This is her first xbox game that isn't for the kinect. She is able to play the game with relative ease, but does struggle with understanding more complex moves that her characters can do. It's great that the characters that work on our xbox work on her friends Playstation and vice versa.

Summary: bought this for my 7 year old for his birthday, and i have to say... that franchise knows how to make money. he loves the game, loves the figures and they designed it so that there are a ton of characters, each with different abilities, so its great cross-marketing. you have to buy each figure to access that character and its abilities in the game.
Summary: My kid has fallen in love with Skylanders, and it is a fun game. I have played it with him and it is pretty charming. The game itself is fun. Over the top cartoonish, of course, but that isn't bad. The voice acting is good, although they don't always line up the audio correctly. The figures are neat, and a core element of the game. You switch out each figure from the portal. Each one has their own abilities. Just be prepared to pay for them.
Summary: This is a cool game, and when it's set on Easy, our 4 year old has loads of fun playing it on a rainy day. Even though it's NTSC, it plays absolutely perfectly on our Xbox in NZ, (where PAL games are sold). All you need is a NTSC capable tv, which I'm pretty sure they all are these days anyway.
