Summary: We already had a portal, so we bought portal owners pack.. first time It wouldn't read the disk, so we returned it and got another. The same thing with the second game we got. I went to support forums and did all the trouble shooting and it still wouldn't read. We are at a loss of what to do after this point. I think it is an issue with the type of xbox we have. I can't say I am that surprised when you are discussing the fail-ability of things Made In China.
Summary: Unfortunately, not knowing Skylanders and how they work, I didn't understand that you need to have already purchased the portal for this package. Also, the Skylander's Giants package that does include the portal also includes the Tree Rex Giant. So, in purchasing the other one, we now have 2 Tree Rex Giants. I am not happy that this was not explained on the product.
Summary: I got this as a gift and it was pretty fun. I payed it about one hour the first day and four hours the next day. Then on the third day after I woke up I found an unpleasant surprise. I started up my xbox and updated it then started up the game. I then placed my pop fizz toy on the portal and it didn't work I tried all of my toys again and they all didn't work. I restarted my xbox and blew out the connection for the portal and none of my toys worked!
Excerpt: We have switched platforms in the past year from Wii to Xbox360. Unfortunately, the portals are not compatible and that is not mentioned on this site or any other that sells the product. Clearer communication from Activision would be helpful. I had to google tech sites to find this out. I hope to be able to exchange it for the one with the portal. My little boy has been looking forward to this game since October, got all the Giants that are out, and now can't play.
Summary: Activision has created another version of Skylanders...all under the sickening guise of luring children into a frenzy right before Christmas...FYI you don't need to buy the new potrtal..if you already have one it works with the Giants..but they trick you with the whole new packing that costs $75.00 and includes a new portal.. The game is pretty simlple..but you make sure one Skylander is never enough.
Summary: I would love to give it a legit review, but upon opening it and having all the kids all fired up to play, the Xbox couldn't read the disc. All my other discs read fine. Only this one won't read. This happened to may original Skylanders game too, but after a year. Is anyone else having this problem that bought this game on Xbox?!
