SkyDrift

BluRay Authority
11 November 2013
  • Excerpt: While there are a lot of excellent racing games on current consoles, fans of frantic, combat based kart racing have rather limited choices. But now you can add one more viable option, as SkyDrift is simply a blast. This racer takes place in the skies of course, but has the same power-up driven, arcade style associated with kart racers.

Skydrift Review

PlayDevil
9 December 2011
  • Summary: " SkyDrift " is a decent little game. It’s perhaps slightly overpriced at 1200 points, but there are plenty of tracks and planes on offer. Unfortunately, it suffers from many of the classic pitfalls that XBLA games fall into, with poor sound and a somewhat generic feel to it. Perhaps as a result, the online is also a graveyard, further reducing overall value.

(Xbox 360 Review) SkyDrift

The Entertainment Depot
10 October 2011
  • Summary: Unlike many arcade racers, SkyDrift is not for the faint of heart. For all incredibly beautiful courses and seemingly blast-‘em-style approach, the game is remarkably difficult, giving very little leeway to newcomers to the aerial racing scene. The added freedom as a racer actually complicates the experience dramatically, particularly when you factor in the often breakneck speeds, wily AI, and sometimes unforgiving course design.

SkyDrift Xbox 360 review

Console Obsession
28 September 2011
  • Excerpt: Combining elements of racing and shooting, does this downloadable title from Namco Bandai contain enough action? There are three different types of races played over the six locations, with the courses played in reverse to provide extra longevity. In a Power Race, the power-ups are available allowing the player to attack and defend. Speed Races have the added bonus of speed rings that the player’s plane flies through to gain a burst of speed.

SkyDrift (X360) - Review

VGChartz
23 September 2011
  • Excerpt: After Digital Reality released the well thought out but poorly executed zombie-defense game Dead Block , I honestly had no idea what the company was planning to do next. So when it was announced that Digital Reality would be developing and publishing a plane-racing game called SkyDrift I was, well, intrigued; from a zombie game to a plane-racing title, that’s quite a change.

Review: SkyDrift (360/PS3)

GamePro.com
14 September 2011
  • Excerpt: This airborne blast-'em-up plays like a plane-based kart racer, and despite its too-tight controls and meager multiplayer, it's still good fun.
  • Pros: Beautiful environments; challenging courses; addicting gameplay.
