Summary: Look, I've checked out several of the reviews for this product and I find it odd that so many of the higher reviews are so articulate and well written when this "game" is clearly a miserable excuse of an HD Collection. This leads me to believe that A) these people were PAID by Konami (the publisher) to help bolster what is assuredly almost universally bad reviews for a broken piece of software, or B) these are some truly hardcore Silent Hill fans that desperately want to...
Summary: I'd heard good things about the Silent Hill games but hadn't played before ordering. I wish I would have because this game is terrible. The story line did not make sense, the directions were unclear and the lighting was so dark that it was hard to make out what was going on. I couldn't get anywhere without an online walkthrough and even still the game was boring and confusing.
Summary: As much as I am a Silent Hill fan, This collection is a huge waste of money. There are glaring technical issue with the game such as: *Severe frame rate drops in both games. *Lag upon receiving Trophies/Achievements. *Graphical glitches. *Sound loops. *Audio glitches. *Reduced transparencies of fog, glass, etc. *The game being too dark, even with the in-game brightness maxed.
Summary: The first Silent Hill game I played was Silent Hill 4: The Room. I didn't get far and the game received mixed reviews so I don't regret not finishing it. The first Silent Hill game I completed was Silent Hill: Homecoming, which I loved and played many times. So when I heard that this collection was coming, I was very excited and eager to pick it up. As you may know, there are two separate games included in here, Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3.
Summary: This game was buggy when it was first released to the point where the PS2 versions are greatly superior. The PS3 version was patched to a point where it's allegedly up to snuff (not sure, I've never played it) but the 360 version is unpatched and Konami has said that they have no intentions of fixing it. Konami knows it's broken, has no intention of fixing it, and wants you to pay 40 dollars for it. I was really looking forward to this collection, I'm so disappointed.
Summary: Do Not buy this game. Konami has announced that they will not release a patch to the xbox 360 version. They acknowledge that this game is broken but they refuse to release a patch due to technical issues and resources. if you want the best Silent Hill experience i'd recommend the original xbox versions of Silent Hill 2 and the playstation 2 version of 3. they look pretty much the same if not better and they won't screw up as much as this broken POS.
Summary: I am a huge fan of the Silent hill games..So when the HD collection came out I couldn't wait to get it since I never had the 3rd Silent hill game for my collection..Sadly When I got the game and started to play it there where so many problems with the sound and how glitchy the game play is I stopped playing it.Konami said that they would be releasing patches to fix these problems,So I have been waiting for the patch to be released to be able to play the game without all...
Konami has cancelled 360 patch for HD Collection today
8 August 2012
Summary: [...] "Unfortunately, Konami will no longer be bringing the patch to the Xbox 360. The company cited "technical issues and resources" as reasons for its change of plans. Speaking about the Xbox 360 patch cancellation, Konami said that it "apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues". The patch fixes a couple of important issues relating to the collection's frame rate and audio-synching. " So basically its a $50 broken ass game ! AVOID !
