Summary: Its alright, not good and not bad. The problems with this game is that it lags like 5 seconds or so in every single checkpoint and certain areas it lags then new sprites pop like magic. The fighting part sucks also. The guy swings every weapon extremely slow like if a piece of wood weighed 100 pounds and can't swing it any faster.
Close but as usual the Konami franchise Silent Hill disappoints again.

Summary: I bought Silent Hill Downpour because it has been out for a year and I want a game that was going to be scary and hopefully patched to work smoothly. The game delivers in old school horror scares. I would say it tops similar games such as Resident Evil 6 in the scare department. The environment I am okay with; rather than fog instead its rain and night-time that you never really get GREAT visibility.
Summary: I agree with another reviewers comment, "God dammit Silent Hill, either come out with a completely horrible game or a really stellar game". I'm not a fan of the Silent Hill games. Their stories have been disconnected, and random. The game play has been simple and repetitive. Their graphics eerie, yet washed out. After the reviews, I waited to buy this game when the price came down, because of which, this is the first Silent Hill I really liked!
Downpour really knew how to rain on the Silent Hill parade

Summary: I strongly disagree with the Game Informer review. It was far too lenient. Yes, I loved the Silent Hill franchise- especially the first three- but I say this strictly in regards to it as a stand-alone game: It needed work. The graphics were barely decent. In every way, they felt dull and uninspired. While there was a great attention to detail, especially in Otherworld sequences, the ambiance in between such moments was flat.
Summary: Silent Hill: Downpour received mixed reviews, with aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic assigning the PlayStation 3 version 66.78% and 64/100 and the Xbox 360 version 66.61% and 68/100. In general, most critics were split on the game's story and atmosphere yet criticized the combat and technical performance. Game Informer gave it a 7/10, stating "I don’t regret my time with Silent Hill: Downpour, but mediocrity hung over most of my playthrough.
