Excerpt: Silent Hill has been struggling to recapture its success for the better part of a decade, with most of the installments after Silent Hill 3 feeling like failed experiments at bringing the franchise back to its former glory. Downpour is a chance for the series to return to its roots, and to do what The Room, Origins, Shattered Memories, and Homecoming could not.
Summary: " Silent Hill Downpour " is a real mixed bag of a game as it has many good points but nothing that will live long in the memory. Without question the game will provide several hours of enjoyment but on the flip side also several hours of frustration and for these reasons alone I would say that there are better ways to spend your hard earned cash unless you are a fan of the franchise then you will probably enjoy the experience.
Conclusion: I give the storyline score an 8.5/10 Summary: Good -Interesting story and characters. -Beautiful atmosphere. -Exploring Bad -Bad sound effects. -Poor combat. -Last gen graphics. Overall I think the has room for improvement but it's on its way to becoming what it once was.
Summary: I am afraid SILENT HILL DOWNPOUR doesn`t blow my skirt up a great deal, which is a pity, because it has so much potential and good ideas, but they have been wasted on erratic controls and lack of atmosphere, this game could have been so much more and yet it let its self-down.
Survival horror game filled with blood, gore, and fright.

Summary: Parents need to know Silent Hill: Downpour is a very violent and gory "survival horror" game for mature players. You play as a prison inmate escapee who winds up in the creepy town of Silent Hill, and must fend for himself with all kinds of weapons. You can shoot, stab, and slash demonic creatures. Blood and body parts can be seen during combat and cut-scene sequences. Some of the non-interactive movie sequences are also violent, gory, and disturbing.
Excerpt: Silent Hill: Downpour, the eighth title in the series, comes out at an interesting time - after the critical disappointment of Homecoming and the commercial upset of Shattered Memories, Konami's decision to hand the series to another unproven developer is more than enough get the alarm bells ringing.
Conclusion: Silent Hill: Downpour is a solid game with a typically twisted story underneath all of the pretence. Still the gameplay mechanics are starting to show their age and there is a lack of genuine shocks and intrigue, it feels like familiar ground, albeit fairly well made familiar ground. This is certainly an upturn for the series but it hasn’t yet gotten back to the giddy heights of its predecessors.
Pros: Moments of brilliant manipulation of the game world, and the player, Process of revelation of Murphy's past and psyche
Cons: Exploration isn't especially deep, The game offers explanations more quickly than during the franchise's golden age
