"SAW" could have been one of the best licensed games of all time to be honest. The fact it isn’t quite up there really beggars belief. The slight brevity of the game I can take. The non-randomised puzzles in a time-based environment I can’t. Nor is it original when I put my hand in a toilet full of syringes for the tenth time. I was also surprised that you probably have to have seen all of the films for it to make total sense too. Read more
When I found out there was going to be a game based on one of my favorite horror franchises, I was excited yet nervous; as we all know the track record of video games based on movie licenses. Konami brings us SAW the videogame and its release almost coincide with the new SAW VI movie, yet they have completely different storylines. Read more
Fans of the hugely successful and seemingly never-ending film series are the only people likely get some thrills out of this hit and miss horror game. Read more
We all know the reputation that movie tie-in games are often awful but can Saw, a game based on the popular movie franchise, really change that? A survival horror game in the same vein as the original Resident Evil games and Silent Hill, Saw tries to be a little different. Maybe not the best horror movie to adapt to a video game, is it good for all gamers, just Saw fans, or should everyone avoid this like one of Jigsaw's traps? Read more
SAW 's various elements come together for a short, yet satisfying fright-filled romp that has gory style to spare. It's definitely a flawed experience, but one that shows a surprising amount of potential and promise for possible sequels. Read more
: SAW is a surprisingly solid game that ends up being not bad for a first crack at the franchise, as the game is creepy and challenging enough to sell you for a while, and with a little more imagination and play-testing it might have been a real winner, astonishingly enough. The story, visuals and audio match up to the theme of the films well, and they’re bleak, creepy and disconcerting enough to please both horror fans and film fans nicely. Read more
When it comes to horror movies, I guess you could call me a fan of the classics. I’ll take Dracula and Frankenstein over any of the new-age terror films any day. That being said though – there’s something inherently awesome about the Saw franchise. Pulling no punches, it delivers just what you’d expect, some of the most uncomfortable gruesome moments in movie history. So, a Saw movie sounds like a no brainer right? If only it were that easy. It's a shame though, because Saw has serious potential. The game's atmosphere and use of the license is top shelf and really delivers to fans of the movies. It's just all held together in a hobbled and technical mess of a game. Combat is broken and the smaller traps throughout the game just become repetitive and boring. It's a chore slogging through the poor game design to get to the more fun boss traps that lie in wait. Read more
Though the puzzle elements are compelling, everything else is far below the quality margin. Read more
“Hello Detective….I would like to play a game.” these words have now struck fear in my heart! After wincing and hiding through five of the six Saw films ,and loving them might I add, I wondered how they could possibly make a game of the series. How would it play, would it retain the same dark atmosphere as the films? Would it be like some movie tie in games and be a complete failure? Read more
I can't get past this one part where Amanda needs my help or someone else I don't remember exactly but the puzzle is confusing that I turned it off. DON'T BUY THIS GAME GET SAW 2 MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!! Read more
SAW As we all know Saw is one of the most brutal movies ever made and when I first heard the movies were going to be created into games I was surprised. Saw seems like the kind of movie that cant be made into a video game but Konami proved me and everybody else wrong by publishing the game. Konami are most notable for their other survival horror game Silent Hill. In some respect you can see the similarities between Silent Hill and that of the Saw game. Read more

This game is not as good as I thought, graphics etc are not upto other games like this. The puzzles are a joke a child isn't going to work them out, plus it gets boring after a while, no story etc, don't think I'll be playing Saw 2 as I think it will be the same stuff. Read more
