Excerpt: Those who have long awaited a new rugby release have been left disappointed by the company who developed the previous games Rugby 08 and Rugby 06. Although this time without the financial backing of EA Sports. This weak offering from HB Games is the self-claimed "Official Video Game Of The Rugby World Cup" - Despite only 10 of the 20 available teams being officially licensed, including Australia, and the World Cup hosts New Zealand.
Pros: Multiplayer can be fun | Sound has been improved
Cons: Hardly any content | Glitches | Annoying AI behaviour
Conclusion: At last a rugby game been to long Fifa always have games. looks good, however it plays with major faults. Penalty against you even when the other team had the ball. Many vital flaws. 505 dont give up iron them out and you will have loyal customers.
Conclusion: I am a big rugby fan and have been waiting for a long time for a good rugby game to come out! This is an average game, lazy is right - considering its a international game and not club level they couldnt even be bothered to include the national anthems or the haka. The All Blacks player havent even got the true names wait for Johna Lomu on the 9th September! I will be trading this in!
Conclusion: Terrible game, plays the same as the previous version, very frustrating. Played it on hard level immediately to see if it carries the same glitches as the previous one and guess what.... it does ! Lets you get 2 or 3 try's up and then stops you winning every lineout and scrum (even on your put in)... when you finally do get the ball it knocks on so frequently.
Conclusion: This game has like every other game does points which could be better. However overall gameplay is good, presentation ok. I like the three commentating team idea as well as the official RWC jerseys after you put in the code so no Engeland jersey from 2007 if you choose to play as England. Bad points are not enough licensed teams, you get the USA and Canada license but not Fiji, Samoa, Tonga not to mentioned the two big ones out of the TriNations. Exclusive licenses suck.
Conclusion: I could not wait for this game or any rugby game for that matter since xbox fans have had to wait to long , however i was dissapointed, the rugby kits are wrong even with the RWC code ... the players names are wrong .. the rosters are small and lazy with approx 25 players named in each squad ... the player editor is a joke it only allows u to change the name ..
Conclusion: As with everyone else I was really looking forward to this game as it's been so long since a rugby game has been released. However I am truly disappointed. The gameplay is OK, but it is so limited in what you can do. A World Cup, a very short tour or a friendly, not really built for lasting gameplay. I will definitely be trading this in when Lomu comes out in a couple of weeks, just for the variety of what you can.
Conclusion: i have been waiting a long time for a decent rugby game to come out on the 360, and guess what, i am still waiting, hopefully Lomu will be much better. This game is still playable but i would not pay over 15 for it, as it is still full of bugs. lazy game making that's all i got to say, no excuse with the standard that is being reached by other well know sports games.
