Over rated

Alwaysinit "alwaysinit", Amazon
28 April 2008
  • Summary: Rockstar Table Tennis is a glaring example of how industry adoration can inflate ratings of otherwise poor games. It is no secret that Rockstar is beloved by many for giving us the GTA series amongst others but it is a puzzle as to why this game had universal praise since it was released. Just to be clear, Rockstar San Diego developed this title using the RAGE engine which coincidentally powers GTA IV now. It was obviously a test for the developer and the engine. Fine.

Lacks depth and variety

ice grizzly "Grrrrrr", Amazon
8 January 2008
  • Summary: This game is not a full fledged game like Virtua Tennis. It is fun to play with others, that's about it. There is no shelf life for this game. Gets repetitive and boring very fast. They should have thought about modes, mini-games and other stuff. Rent or borrow and play it for couple of days. Buying it is not worth it.

missing a lot

Ben W. Wright "bw", Amazon

  • Summary: i was intrigued when i heard rockstar was doing a game that wasnt somewhere along the lines of gta so i picked this up....i have to say, im pretty unimpressed with it. dont get me wrong, the graphics are really very well done. the character rendering and movement is all above the bar. but darn if there is just very little to actually play on this game. you have your exhibition mode, and an easy, normal, and hard tournament.

"Grand Theft Ping Pong"

evildeadmitchm, Ebay
1 October 2006
  • Summary: When the makers of grand theft auto {Rockstar} make a game...you expect results. It's the best ping pong game out but it might be the only one too. It's fun for an hour but it gets repetitive quickly. I would say you would have to love the sport of ping pong to enjoy this title but I truly love the sport of ping pong and this just doesen;t do it for me. A good game to rent for sure.

Table Tennis

Ian M, amazon.co.uk
24 October 2010
  • Summary: i got this game on the strengh of other reviews and because it was exceptionally cheap as a second hand copy, and the comments i make are done so after only a very few hours play! This is on the whole a very difficult game to play!!!! i read other reviews that refered to how much like real table tennis the game was, however having played both this and real table tennis, i can only asume that if this game is what they expect of the real thing then the reviewers must have...

  • Conclusion: one of those games you play a couple of times and then never play again, controls are simple enough but just gets really boring very quickly.

Im not sure what i expected

xboxchick, Play.com
5 January 2007
  • Conclusion: Not being a fan of sports games on the whole i picked this up with an open mind. After playing through on the easiest difficulty it quickly became clear that i was out of my league. The game is solid, and im generally quite comftable completing a game on hard. Maybe its because of the topic of the game i found myself trading it back in within 2 days of buying it, really one for the fans i think.

What game have these people been playing?

A Customer "gamer", amazon.co.uk
28 December 2006
  • Summary: This game is cheap for a reason it not very good. yes this game can be fun to an extent but only during two player mode. But graphics are rather slow and not fully fluent (very middle of last gen console like), ok it's ping-pong so graphics not a top priority but gameplay should be and this game is far too slow for what should be a really fast and frantic very little time to think game (it's no faster and probably a bit slower than the lawn tennis games on the market)...

Fun for a few hours

S. J. Kelly "jurbul", amazon.co.uk
31 May 2006
  • Summary: The graphics are good, the controls are slick and the gameplay is quite absorbing for the first couple of ours, after which it becomes a bit tedious. There simply isn't the long term appeal. I've only had the game a day and I've lost the desire to put it into my Xbox360 already.
