Frequency, released in 2001, by developer Harmonix was one of those innovative games that set the Playstation 2 apart from the rest. It featured frenetic rhythm-based gameplay and put the small developer on the map. The critically acclaimed title may not have been a big commercial success but it gave Harmonix presence in a unique niche that would soon grow into a major lynchpin of the video game industry. Since that first release in 2001, the Cambridge based firm has... Read more

  2. Rock Band 2 Review: Second Verse Same As The First

Rock Band 2 is essentially a much better, more polished Rock Band with an amazing new set list and better instruments. The songs alone would probably be worth the price of entry and if you're up for new instruments, this is a great way to do that as well. But with the exception of one important online gameplay addition, don't really expect a different experience. I'm still loving Rock Band 2. I play it daily, my son plays it daily, even my wife has expressed interest in... Read more

Overall - 9.5/10 This game is by far one of the best games around if you want to kick back and relax. You don't have to worry about sneaking around corners to shoot someone in the back, and you don't have to figure out special puzzles to get anywhere. All you have to do, is pick up a guitar, a microphone, or a set of stick, and start rocking your heart out. Read more

Rock Band was truly amazing. It took all the ideas from Sing Star and Guitar Hero , and added drums for an exceptional gaming experience. But now Guitar Hero has got drums, the unique selling point of Rock Band has been eroded, and the competition between the Activision and Harmonix has stepped up, has the latter taken their platform to new heights, or should owners of the original just download additional music tracks to keep their game current? To answer this, let me... Read more

Fun: This game is just as much fun as the first version, with just more songs. My friends always enjoy coming over to play it (we're in our 30s). If you like singing out tunes and playing with friends, then you have to own this game. Even my girlfriend, that doesn't like video games at all, is now hooked on this game. Read more

Rock Band 2 is a high-quality, expensive upgrade to the original game. While not enough has changed to confuse a seasoned player, the upgrades are very worthwhile and the new songs alone are worth the price. Read more

It's not exactly Rock Band 2 ..... more like Rock Band 1.2! The developers have produced a much improved game - which even pulls in all the songs from Rock Band 1 and any downloaded songs (if you have any) so rather than having different collections of songs on various versions - they are all here! Improvement no. 1! Improvement 2 - now you can form a band for career mode online - so have a virtual band from all over the world! Improvement 3 - drum tutor ! A good... Read more

Rockband 2 is fully loaded, awesome game play, really fun to play with friends around, and never dies on you. It easily beat GH:WT, but the next war between GH: Metallica and RB: Beatles might have a different outcome... Read more

This is the whole set. With this one box, you have a whole band. Add one more guitar and you add a bass. You can even go online and have your friends join the band. I live in Missouri and my brother joins our band from Florida...it's great. You'll catch on quick and be playing like a pro in no time. Read more
