Summary: I don't play a lot of Kinect games. Not because I'm lazy, but I don't think the technology is quite to the level it needs to be at to have an above-average experience. We have the Dance Central games, the Kinect Adventures, and the Hip-Hop Experience; all of which have pretty good detection controls and are more accurate than not in reading movements.
Rise of the Nightmares-Good Game: Yes Flawless controls:NO

Summary: I bought this game a couple of months ago when it came out on sale, I saw the reviews saying it was definitively a scary game for the Kinect and I thought it looked worth the price. I think it's safe to say that the game is scary when you scream bloody murder while playing it, Yeah I'll admit it, this game horrified me. In a good way, in a way many horror games miss out on.
Summary: This is one of my favorite games, but I was expecting a little more based on the other reviews. It's definitely a fun game. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants a fighting game that's a little different then normal.
Summary: I was really excited for Rise of Nightmares because I love zombie games. But I was a little disappointed because it's not that scary. I think they over did it with the gore, but that's just my opinion. And I still think it's a fun game to play and I'm happy with it but some of the other reviews made it seem more scary and frightening. But it's not like that at all to me. Which is surprising because I get scared easily.
Summary: This game interested me because of how it was a horror game..but for kinect! I'm currently trying to figure out how much I like kinect and for me being a huge shooter fan I wasn't sure if I would. This game is very immersive and definitely will get your heart beating, if not from fear then from beating off the attacking undead.
This is a lot better than previous reviews would have had me believe

Summary: It's not rocket science. You pick stuff up and you hit/stab/punch/kick zombies. There's some running and a teensy bit of puzzle solving, but pretty much, it's great exercise if you go at it for an hour. I haven't finished it, so I honestly don't know if we live or not, but I don't hold out tons of hope; it's a hack and slash game with your body as the controller.
Summary: I think most of the negative reviews for this game are by people who were expecting the interface and precision of a controller-based horror. They are forgetting that Rise of Nightmares is the first attempt of survival horror on Kinect, and I think it's a good one. Yes, the controls are somewhat clunky (it is Kinect), the storyline is cliche, & the blood and gore effects are arcade-like in their exaggeration. But for what it is, it's a very enjoyable game.
