Summary: It's very rare I find an RPG I don't like but Resonance is one of them. I wasn't sure what to expect from the reviews but I never expected something so backward and primitive. It incorporates some of the worst features of old video games. The thing that seems to impress and most people is the battle system, it's complex so people have a difficult time explaining it but stripped of all it's bells and whistles it works on a simple premise that some terrible NES games used.
Summary: All right, well first off this game does look good and has some amazing screenshots. for that sega did good. but as for gameplay... the final fantasy 8 knockoff style of walking from place to place was a bit annoying. creativity would be appreciated, but i guess if something works copy it as much as possible right? The battle system is retarded overkill. yes it looks good and yes it is very different from most RPG's but its too complex for the simple things.
Summary: I remember someone saying that this game is better than Final Fantasy XIII. I say this game wishes it had the polish and storyline of Final Fantasy XIII. Oh sure, Resonance of Fate has towns, but it doesn't have exploration. The game is filled with mind numbingly boring grind and has a loose, decentralized storyline. There are plenty of quests and people to discover in Basel, but it's all too repetitive. I wouldn't recommend this game...
Summary: Nothing is spelled out for the gamer in this game. Most RPG's come with tutorials for different aspects of a game. This game has a lack of tutorials, period. The included manual is not helpful and the in game menus are hard to navigate. Definitely not for younger gamers or those who want to have a fun experience.
Uninteresting, slow yet i'm sure it appeals to certain people.

Summary: I think you'd have to be really, really into RPG's, or Japanese style RPG's to be precise, to get any real enjoyment of this game. The whole 'rendered' background thing seems very 90's and the style is pretty uninspired. The combat is confusing at first and when you do get the hang of it, it's fairly repetitive. It's different than a lot of games on Xbox at the moment though, so if it;s a bit of originality your looking for, you may well take to this.
