Summary: Story/Modes: GOOD Graphics: VERY GOOD Sound: INCREDIBLE Control/Gameplay: CLASSIC Replayability: GOOD Balance: MEDIOCRE Originality: POOR Addictiveness: VERY GOOD Appeal Factor: ENJOYABLE Miscellaneous: ENJOYABLE The Final Rating: GOOD GAME
Conclusion: It's also disappointing that, since this is probably the first exposure many people have to the series, the disc only has Raiden IV , especially since the previously released Raiden Fighters Aces has all of the games in that series on the disc. If Ikaruga is too frustrating, than Raiden IV is a good alternative for scratching your shooter itch.
Conclusion: If money is no object and you’re a fan of the genre, Raiden IV won’t disappoint. It’s a solid shooter with all of the essential criteria in place, from the exaggerated firepower to the insuperable difficulty. Co-op mode is also a lot of fun, and the extra two levels do add to the experience. But the game is also indisputably thin on overall content, and that renders the $40 price tag rather excessive.
