Fun Shooter

F. Guzman, Amazon
31 May 2010
  • Summary: This shooter is a great value for it's price. The biggest flaws is that the three games included are very similar to each other. Seriously, it seems like each game is just the same five levels but with different ships.

Old school fun!

Res ipsa loquitur -, Amazon
16 November 2009
  • Summary: This game is awesome, if you like it at the arcade before, you definitely got to get it. With the price being only $19.99 when it was released, I didn't bother to wait and get it for a bit less used. Definitely don't regret paying full price for new because it's really fun.

Brings back memories

B. Deans, Amazon
29 October 2009
  • Summary: Ever want to go back to the good ol days of 2d shooters at the arcade? Ever want to experience what your childhood or earlier stages of life had for a quarter. Then you got it right here. 3 classic games in 1. Raiden fighters is just that.

Great schmup game

Douglas G., Newegg
26 September 2009
  • Summary: A great vertical shooter. A lot is going on on the screen and it can get a little overwhelming, but a little bit of time will get you to a point of zen that allows you to survive for a little while on the higher difficulty settings.
  • Pros: If you enjoy old-school shooters ala 1942, 1943, etc., then this game will keep you entertained for a while. It is actually 3 arcade games in total with additional options of gameplay for each game. Whether you are a veteran of the genre or a beginner, the game can adapt with a variable difficult...
  • Cons: Within each mode, the only thing that varies the game for each successive play-through is the ship selection. You will find a favorite and probably stick with it. This would preclude you from an achievement. I don't know how anyone could beat this game on the hardest difficulty without giving up ...

Arcade fun without the arcade.

E. Larson, Amazon
21 August 2009
  • Summary: Raiden Fighters Aces combines three games in the Raiden series, the top-down, fighter-plane-bullet-hell-quarter-eating games that give you so much enjoyment and carpal tunnel syndrome in the arcades into one game. All three are one to two player experiences, and, to be frank, aren't very deep.

Great old-school 2-player fun, perfect for kids and adults

SpongePatBobStar, Amazon
5 August 2009
  • Summary: Just like the 80s arcade games, and as much fun as I remember! This includes three Raiden games (1 - 3), but I'm not sure if all three were originally arcade games. My 13-year-old son is used to the modern stuff, but we've had a blast playing this together. Well worth the bargain price ($20 for me).

It would be perfect with Live co-op

J. Curry, Amazon
8 July 2009
  • Summary: All three of Raiden's spin-off series, Raiden Fighers, on one disc with almost as many options as you'd find on an emulator like MAME. Change the orientation of the screen, lives, continues, framerate, color filters, interlacing filter thingies, etc. for all three games.

Old school shooter heaven

N. Durham, Amazon
27 June 2009
  • Summary: The Raiden series has been around forever it seems, and has retained a tried but true formula of top-down shooting action. Raiden Fighters Aces features the Raiden Fighters trilogy on one disc, with some technical advancements made specifically for release on the XBox 360.
