Excerpt: "I bought this game last week and all i can say is wow, i paid £9.99 for it and what a bargain it is. This game grabbed my attention from the demo, on the demo you can race online and me and my mates were having races having a laugh and it was great fun so i decided to buy the full game. The graphics of this game are superb, the detail of the damage on your car when you crash is amazing and the tracks and the surrounding views are perfect. The career ...
Race Driver Grid (Xbox 360): More of a racing simulator than a Racing Game.
28 January 2010
Summary: Grid is a racing game recently developed by Codemasters. It strives for realism in a racing circuit and definitely delivers what it sets out to, it's just a shame the gameplay is so weak. Gameplay ----- ----- ----- ----- The difficulty level of this game is extremely high, on the basic settings the AI is very demanding and requires even a seasoned gamer to be at the top of his game to finish anywhere near a podium finish.
Summary: I remember reading about Race Driver GRID some time back in EDGE magazine and ever since it's been on my wish list. Just recently the price dropped do I thought I'd give it a try. All the ingredients are there for a truly fantastic game, stunning visuals, amazing particle effects, car deformation, clever AI, a wide selection of car types from open-wheel to muscle and global tracks that are challenging and visually captivating. It all started so well...
Race Driver Grid (Xbox 360): Good for casual gamers, but not great
12 January 2009
Summary: Good points Race Driver Grid is graphically amazing and quick and easy to pick up and play. The single player mode is simply a career where you work you way up to compete in harder but more rewarding events. It delves into customization a little, where you can tune your car and hire race drivers, but doesn't go into too much detail. Great for casual gamers. The game play is very arcadey, for those who like sims, this one isn't for you.
Pros: great visuals, easy to pick up and play, some nice features
Cons: poor longevity, no split screen, not enough variation on the car driving styles
Summary: Grid is a really good game, espicially if you enjoy games like the old Tocas. You make your own racing team and design your own brand. This very original espicially in xbox 360 games. I really enjoy playing this game. The online multiplayer is also very good. Although it has many good qualities, there are a few problems with the game like not being able to upgrade your cars and also the steering is very sensitive and often you crash.
Race Driver Grid (Xbox 360): Speedy fun in Tin-Foil Cars!
9 July 2008
Summary: Racedriver GRID is an arcade style driving game. I originally purchased this game because of the Xbox LIVE 12 player online multiplayer, and it's great to play online, loads of fun, the odd amusing crash, and some great racing action, the better you do in each race, the more experience points you earn, and there is a ranking system to go with this, the higher the rank, the more experienced you are, and the rank is free for other online gamers to view.
Pros: Graphics, online play is fun, good tracks.
Cons: Tin-Foil cars bend out of shape too easily, annoying auto catch-up gameplay.
Summary: I cannot disagree with any of the superlatives described by other amazon customer reviewers. However, because of the lack of depth to the handling mechanics, the game gets old quickly. I am still playing Forza Motorsport 2 because of the superior and more realistic handling. If you like realistic handling in racing games i would advise you think carefully about buying GRiD, it's like driving a hovercraft. Which can be fun, just don't expect Forza.
Summary: Having downloaded the demo I was really looking forward to this game. It does have some great features such as the crash damage, instant replay and the day into night into day experience of Le Mans. It also has to be said that the graphics are amazing, particularly in hi def. However, having now bought it the game has too many frustrations to be a truly great game. If you are beginner forget it.
