Conclusion: This isn’t H.A.W.X. only shortcoming. The biggest problem I had was getting locked onto a desired target. It seems to default to the nearest ones (you can switch to another target with a tap on the Y Button), but with assistance off, you’re not looking from directly behind your plane, so it’s challenging to turn and get a lock on a specific target that you can see on your radar or which you know is a bigger threat to your mission objectives.
Conclusion: The series continues to dominate the genre in
terms of visual presentation, technical
features, and immersive online experience. With
its coveted licensed cars and bikes, you can’t
help but live in the moment while hurling at
great speed, tearing through famous landmarks.
The controls are as smooth as ever but the
overall handling is mostly geared towards expert
drivers. The customization aspect is robust but
not nearly as in-depth as the you see one in
Excerpt: You know a franchise has officially 'made it' when you can ask for it at Wal-Mart by the title's acronym and get a game, not a blank look. Project Gotham Racing 4, also known by the far more writer-friendly PGR 4, is just that kind of franchise, with the collected awareness of two solid releases and...well, also a third one.
Summary: Project Gotham Racing 4 is a solid game that delivers a diverse collection of races to complete. Unfortunately it's marred by the fact that it's not all that different from Project Gotham Racing 3 and isn't as much fun as Forza 2. Still, this is an exciting racer that is well worth adding to your collection. This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on.
Excerpt: Having had the chance to review Project Gotham 3 during the launch of the 360 I was very happy to get a chance to review the sequel, now two years later. Aptly titled Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR4), the newest game in the series arrives with some new twists and turns including weather effects, motorcycles, wider tracks and new locations. As I sat down to play this game my first thought was do the new additions manage to make the game a buyer?
