Summary: I liked "Need for Speed" better but this is more like "Gran Turismo". Good cheap game. Newer ones just add more to this so if you aren't an avid race fan or motohead, then this is a good game.
Summary: i bought this for someone else, and they played it a lot, and actually got pretty far in the game consider it was their first racing game. I was tired of them playing halo and oblivion all the time so i bought this for them. They said they liked it and it has sparked theit interest in this type of game more now.
Summary: And yes, it is true. This game is really good overall, although nobody uses the xbox live functions anymore, which is understandable, but really hurts the game. The achievments are really hard, too. Wait, I have to do 3 things for an achievement? What the heck is going on here. The achievments hurt the game considering how hard it is to obtain them. But still, it's a pretty good game.
Summary: I was trying to decide between this game and Forza Motorsport 2. Both have great graphics and solid gameplay, but I actually chose PGR 3 because of what it lacks: ultra-realistic car physics. PGR 3 is very forgiving when it comes to driving. You'll still find yourself slamming into barriers if you try and take corners too quickly, but you can still take them quicker than you can in Forza 2, where the individual car physics are real-life.
Summary: The Pros: This game is a total blast for the euro-auto enthusiast because the more one races the more credits earned to buy better cars like lamborgini, Ferrari, Mercedes, Astin Martin, Nissan etc. Also, each car sounds and handles completely different and are set up to handle based on specs of the actual car. Hours of fun. Lastly, there is a learning curve on every auto you drive and learning how to maximize the learning for every car is the secret to winning.
Conclusion: I was a little disappointed with the game play and the graphics. I found a lot of the scenes very dark and not very well lit. An option to increase the brightness inside the game would have been nice. My LCD was all the way up. The AI is just another of those "running on rails" type AI. Your car gets smacked by them and it's hang on Charlie. You tap them, it's hang on again. The don't even so much as wiggle. You really have to blast them to get them to move off line.
Summary: Great game, excellent graphics, flawless sound and amazing inside-the-car camera. Easily the best integration of Live Marketplace Content Downloads ever. Add over 20 cars to the already enjoyable selection, with just 800 points. The greatest racer I've played in a long time.
Conclusion: my friends were all bragging to me about ps2 and gran turimso 4 but i was all dudes wait until you see PGR3. I had them over at my house and showed them and they were all 'PS2 wtf' and they wanted 360s The controls are bad in this game sometimes but the graphics looks so nice you wont notice teh controls to much. sometimes i wish they waited a little more so that they could have fixed the online a little bit..
