Excerpt: PES is carrying on without any licenced players and still algging behind on the graphics we see in Fifa but it isn't all bad. the gameplay itself is good and stays fluid as were the previous games. However there are somenew modes like the become a pro mode. Here you can pick a character and try and build him up from being a reserve player to getting to play for your team and then country.
I would definatly buy this game but not at full price.

Excerpt: I have been a big fan of the PES series since PES 6 on the Xbox 360, which was in fact the first 'Next gen' version of the game, however this game was simply a port of the PS2 version and some aspects were unable to be copied over it missed alot of features. PES 2008 promised to deliver these missing features but fell somewhat short again. So, upon the release of PES 2009 i was the most excited person around and first in the store to buy it.
Excerpt: All PES fans, look away now!! Being a PES fan myself for the last 6 years, I must painfully admit that this new installment from KONAMI is a huge huge dissapointment :( Its difficult to pinpoint where its all gone wrong for the game developers (konami)! I think its easier to start off with the positives. Well the graphics are amazing..drogba does look like drogba! lol. The new 'be a pro' feature is a bonus but this is let down by the poor, really poor format.
Excerpt: When purchasing Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, I crossed a border from Fifa fan to "the people's game". I had never played PES, but I had been recommended many a time over the past few years. I decided that this year I would see what all the fuss was about. My first impression wasn't good. The interface of the menu is quite poor. It reminds you of an arcade game from the 90's. Music is dependant on which menu are in, the names of the menus are quite confusing.
Excerpt: At first your quite taken by the quality game play in PES 2009, but after a while the negatives in this game started to come to my attention. First of all the new included champions league mode, the game mode itself is probably the best feature in the game but if you cant have all the correct teams with correct names in then its not as good as it might be.
Ignore the rumours, PES 2009 is a solid game with a great single player and enjoyable with friends.

Excerpt: So the old PES vs. FIFA argument arises yet again, but this time, while Konami are trying to find their feet still on the next-gen (current gen now surely?) platforms, FIFA seemingly excel. However, is this actually the case? I'm ignoring the hype, the fanboy antics and getting down to the actual core of PES 2009, so read on...
Excerpt: I must admit that I've only got into football video games recently, so the apart from PES 2009 and FIFA 09, I am new to this whole thing. I always had a problem getting to grips with the controls and a huge lack of patience with this type of game. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 was the first of its kind that I actually sat down and gave a chance, and whilst I was rewarded with a fine game it still felt like there was something missing that would have otherwise kept me playing...
