A REVIEW FOR THE CASUAL GAMER
EMAN NEP, Amazon

Summary: So you don't play sports video games usually? Then this is the review for you! I gave this game a spin when I saw it lying around the office and figured I'd give it a chance. So here's what I thought of it: GAMEPLAY: 3.5/5 -- As far as the basics go, it's thankfully intuitive.
Summary: I've been playing winning11 since 4 years ago on PS2 and it's by far the best soccer game out there. I've tried playing the newer versions of Fifa and they hav improved a lot since the old Fifa days but it's still no match for PES/WE11.
Summary: Pro Evo 08 is better than 07, but Konami still has a lot of work to do. The gameplay is more realistic and discourages straight-up speed-soccer, which I like. The animations and player characters are much more realistic and detailed.
Summary: After reading numerous reviews on the UK/AUS version over the past few months I was skeptical about this year's Winning Eleven/Pro Evo game. After playing it I can see where the criticism comes from. While the gameplay is still top notch, the replays are fairly choppy.
Excerpt: One of my favourite football game series after the Fifa games, Pro Evolution Soccer is usually cheaper to buy than the Fifa games. The game itself has all the major teams and players and you have the option to create your own teams and players if you want to.
Excerpt: For me pro evoloution soccer 2008 was excellent in certain aspects of the game but shocking in others. Pro 2008 offers excellent offline modes. Including Exhibition, league and Master League modes. The gameplay in these modes are both entertaining and fun.
Excerpt: Pro Evo 08 is a great game do not get me wrong however it feels very similar to a game i played prior to it and you can get what that was, pro evo 07. Overall there wasnt a big enough change between the two games which made this game feel a bit of a let down.
Get it right next time - spend some development money

Summary: I've always been a fan of this franchise having played it through most of it's previous platforms and having bought an Xbox 360 couldn't wait to get my hands on it. However Konami really need to "up" their game next time around as little tweaks here and there is not improvement enough and are...
Summary: As Fifa 10 and Pro 10 come out and soon we will have 11 and 12 and......you know the rest. For those of us unwilling to fork out £30 on a game these budget titles are a boon. But is it worth the price? Overall, yes, but with reservations. Like most PES games it suffers from phoney team names.
