Summary: Prey was a pretty decent game, but got pretty old towards the end. I gave it a low lasting appeal because it started getting a little to repetitive. I bought it cheap for getting a gamerscore boost and it worked. I got about 700 points by just beating the game. I had some fun here and there, but one thing that really annoyed me was the loud heart beat everytime your health would go low.

Summary: Well, with the level of typical FPS games in 2010 I suppose it's an unfair comparison to look back on a 2006 game and judge it harshly. But, such is my perspective on it. This game is BIG, a fair length of singleplayer game play. But... the Native American theme fails to engage. I'm not sure what the point of it really was. It was kind of an arbitrary "different for the sake of being different" type of feature.
Summary: At full price this game fails but from the clearance bin it's worth a try. It's a Doom type shooter with off the wall visuals. Things start off with a bang with several interesting moments & backdrops but quickly become dated & repetitive. I got about 8 hours of play in before I became bored with it; will probably pop it back in someday to give it another go.
Just Okay, Fun For a Budget Game, One Unique Aspect, Otherwise Very Average
20 November 2009
Summary: At a budget price, this game was a fun shooter for a run through. It has a unique portal element and world re-orienting aspect. You can walk up walls and ceilings on special tracks as the world changes what is up, down, left, and right which is unique. The portals can help you jump to various places and is unique. But overall it is a very average game. I had fun playing it, but have nothing to rave about it or say against it.
Summary: From what I understand, Prey has been in the making since the days of the N64 and has gone through many iterations. Stacking it up to current shooters, I can assure you the game hasn't changed much since its development cycle in that early era (which is bad for a next-gen game and sadly the norm for a launch title).
Summary: Game was alright. I have been trying all the highly rated 360 games. I guess how quick I beat one is the best measure, that is, do I walk away and leave it or play well into the night. It was okay, not Halo, Gears, or Call of Duty. But they all have their drawbacks.
Summary: Caveat: This is a single-player only review. So I picked up this game on the cheap (its been out for over a year) to tide me over until I got Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. I enjoyed the experience overall, but compared to the cream of the crop FPS out there, it just isn't as good. The Good: -Graphics are pretty good. This is id's Doom 3 engine at work. Good lighting, nice textures, and a good particle system. Impressive for a 1st generation 360 game. -Interesting weapons.
