PowerUp Forever Review

GameSpot
15 December 2008
  • Excerpt: Shoot-'em-ups have always been something of a showcase for otherworldly abstractions, from the asteroid-sized eyeballs of Gradius to the swarming angular attackers of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. PowerUp Forever's promise of a procedurally generated universe of ever-changing environments and ship configurations is certainly intriguing, and its simple core gameplay is enjoyable enough for a time, but the gene pool its surprisingly limited fleet of mutations draws from...
  • Pros: Vibrant and varied palettes, Intuitive and responsive controls, Shrinking large enemies is satisfying
  • Cons: Few enemy types and weak boss battles, Shallow weapon system, No multiplayer support, Disposable "bonus" modes

PowerUp Forever Review

IGN Entertainment
9 December 2008
  • Conclusion: The coolest part of the game is its look. Again, it’s a fairly basic design, but much like how Geometry Wars is a visual feast, PowerUp Forever is one also. It’s just that Geometry Wars is a feast of wireframe particles that are like a thousand laser points when they explode, while PowerUp Forever gives you a trippy light show of smeary clouds of intense color and rippling swirls like the Aurora Borealis.

PowerUp Forever

xboxfrance.com
16 June 2009

Expert Review

xbox-gamer.net
16 January 2009
  • Conclusion: 11 /20 Beau, fun et simple à prendre en main, PowerUp Forever est un shoot them up qui s’inspire très clairement de flow et Geometry Wars.
