screw up early and its game over
17 August 2013
Summary: This game is fun if you like mechantile games but be warned if you go broke it is game over. You need to keep enough money to maintain your ship. I made the mistake of investing in real estate too early and ended up busting. Never got the hang of the fight controls though...I heard it gets better with the dlc though.
Summary: To play this game with no other play is not really possible. I tried and managed to have some fun. I knew better from other games so it was my fault. I could not even form convoys. You need to have played this game a lot to be able to even play Port Royal 3. I didn't see 1 or 2 listed. The battles take a long learning curve! The battles are fun any even when you loose. Which I did every time.
Summary: There's just not enough to do here... Trade between towns and naval battles are fine, managing businesses less so- and land battles are lame. There- those are the 4 things you can do in this game.
Summary: it seems like a well designed game. I just havent really been able to perfrom well at the task for each scenario. I need to spend more time with it to master it. It is definitely "a change of pace" that I was seeking but not as straight forward and "jump right in" as the Tropico series. Give it a go, you may just like it.
Summary: I love Civilization Revolution and thought I'd like this game too. But I don't really like it. It just seems tiring - you go around find resources that are well priced which you know by the color, buy them then sell them somewhere else. It just seems pointless. I know there's a lot too it, but without a story line or a strong purpose, I just felt like I don't care. And the interface is pretty difficult to figure out - much more difficult than Civ Rev.
