This game is circulating around the issue of taking control of a mysterious figure that has inherited the legacy of the long-dead evil Overlord, the player emerges near death from the ruins of the old Overlord's Dark Tower. It could be played generally by one single player.

The player's actions will determine if he rises to become the new all-powerful Overlord; it's all up to how bad he wants to be in order to succeed either an evil or a really evil! With a dark sense of humor, the game immerses player in twisted parodies of classic fantasy stories and characters. The player will have control over an army of Minions that will use their unique skills to fetch, fight and die for their new Overlord. Throughout the game players will actively control a horde of these gremlin-like creatures that will follow every bidding no matter how whimsical or life threatening it may be.

Review Summary

The Overlord game is a different game. After being out of action for quite a while, Triumph Studios bursts back into the gaming scene with this game at the same time returning to old-school gameplay where entertainment is the first priority. The accents of Fable-esque have used throughout the game giving a British twist to the proceedings which ends up making look refreshing. Very rarely that stupid accents are used in games so this one deserves a standup. Interactive environments are also included which means that players are allowed to use a fireball to torch a hayfield or kill anyone within it or even more, just simply knock down walls to form bridges. A certain reviewer noted sadly at how the isometric camera almost doesn’t show off enough detail to make the game really lively. There’s an option of such whereby clicking the right stick to a more traditional third person view but that still doesn’t do justice to the great amount of detail involved in the game. What make this game fun are the wacky creatures, traditional fantasy settings and at the same time, simple controls are provided. Overlord is a bit similar to Fable or Monty Python, if you’ve liked these two then you’ll definitely like Overlord.
