An Excellent Flight Simulator, NOT An Arcade style Game
The Black Metal Wolf, Amazon
19 January 2014
Summary: I bought this game on the day it came out in 2006, and I'm still popping in my 360 in 2014. It's an indulgence for fighter jet fans as it offers something that other console flight games lack: realism. Thus, when it comes to Over G Fighters, you're probably going to either love it or hate it, depending on who you are. If you're looking for a game like Ace Combat, HAWX, or basically any other 360 flight game, you will be disappointed.
Versatile Weapons Load, Realistic Tactics and Physical Performance
31 August 2013
Summary: Pros over Ace Combat 5, 6, 7, and H.A.W.X 2: 1. Versatile, customized weapons load with realistic weapons and number, as well as physical performance: For example, in this game, you can load up an F-15E Strike Eagle with 8 AIM-120C AMRAAMs, along with 6 AGM-65H Mavericks, and 1 2000-pound JDAM or Laser-guided GBU-16, or 1 CBU-103 INS/GPS-guided cluster bomb, or a 600-Galllon drop fuel tank, or if you just want to bomb ground targets, you can load up to 13 MK-20 Cluster...
Summary: I haven't found a combat flight sim (thats right, SIM) that so immersed me since Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe when I was a kid. Simply put, this game rules. The fact that so many people give this mediocre ratings makes me wonder what they actually know and understand about modern aerial warfare, and whether or not they are a casual gamer just looking for a quick "shoot em up" flight sim or something else.
Summary: I play this game all the time and I believe that it is the most realistic one out there. You really have to give it a chance and get used to it. All the flight instrumentation's work in the planes too. There is none of that "painted on crap." You can also land on aircraft carriers and that such. In naval aircraft such as the F/A-18 there is even instruments for landing on aircraft carriers, all of which are functional.
Summary: This is an incredible game. Wait...Game? No, no, no. More like a simulator. This game definitely seems "Arcadey" but it's not. It isn't fun either. (This is where you keep reading, because I know most of you think that's enough.) But it is an incredible g-...Simulator. Even though it's not fun, it just sucks you into it's intense realism. I mean, there isn't even any background music when you fly! If you pull to many G's you black out.
Summary: And I mean that in a good way. This is the most authentic piloting experience that you can get on the Xbox 360 without actually being a pilot! Make sure to take the controls off of basic as this dramatically changes the gameplay. The menus are horrendous and the cut scenes are a joke... This game shines in the game play and in the detail of the terrain. The first few missions may seem boring, but stick with it.
