Summary: I'm a big fan of 2ksports games. I feel they are better than EA in many ways. The hockey game has enough detail to please real hockey fanatics, but also is easy enough to learn for the amateur/casual fan. I recently bought the game (nearly 2 years after its original release) and it seems the online lobbies are no longer functioning, but you can still play friends online using the 'invite a friend' feature.
Summary: the game arrived safely and in perfect condition.I'd consider buying from them again. Personally though i prefer the NHL 2008 version for the PS2 better because you use both control sticks for everything, and it was hard to go back to using the buttons.
Summary: Players get to control there favorite hockey team all the way from front office decisions down to minor league call ups. Manage your favorite team for a whole season, can't play that long custom lenght season availabe with full meun of choices of how you want to play your season. Great game lots of passing, shooting and checking from Hockey's biggest stars.
Summary: Having played both this game (NHL 2K8) and NHL 08 from EA...I think this one takes the blue ribbon. While NHL 08 graphics are just slightly better, the difference is minor and the gameplay makes up for it in large measure. The control the prostick gives you over handling the puck is the best I have seen in a hockey game. It took a little bit to get used to the controls, because I have been so used to EA's typically uniform controls over all it games.
Summary: I definitely recommend you buy this game. It's so much worth the couple of dollars you have to pay. The rosters are out of date, and EA's game has advanced a lot, but this still, BY FAR, has the best gameplay on any next-gen hockey game. Not to mention the textures and arenas are fantastic.
